Wow I wish I would have known about this website before I had moved into Vanderbilt! I can't wait to get out of this dirty disrespectful apartment complex!!! When I first moved in, I made a list of things that needed to be fixed and cleaned. I couldn't believe how dirty the apartment was... dead bugs, cobwebs, dirt and dirty cupboards. Oh and the storage closet on the porch was full of trash. Some things were never fixed and I was told that I had to do that cleaning when I moved in. The water heater was leaking water onto my carpet and a maintenance man put a fan on my carpet and left. I now have a bowl in the utility closet collecting the water and have to empty it when it's full. I came home one day to find my Christmas lights taken off my porch railing and thrown in the corner in a messy ball. Come to find out they were painting the railings in the middle of December and decided not to notify anyone. Now for the real reason this place has gotten on my final nerves.... the main alarm in my building (located by my front door) has been beeping for the past 4 weeks. I have complained 5 times and just now they have told me that every time they have checked on it, it's not beeping and they have done everything that they know they can do to fix it. So I'm supposed to call them immediately when I'm home when it's beeping so they can come over right away and see what it sounds like. Mind you... they are open 8am-5pm and I'm at work then. And I haven't had a decent night sleep for over 4 weeks because the beeping keeps me awake at night and I have to have my tv turned up loud to drown out the beeping. Anyone else have any ideas what I can do to get some respect from this place' Unfortunately my lease isn't up till July. I'm already on the search for a new apartment!

Good luck to you dear - from what i've known and what happened to me... when you go to move out they will attempt to charge you huge amount of money for something - usually the carpet. They will rip the carpet out before you get to view it again, and send you to a credit agency. it will most likely go on your credit. i would totally love to get us all together and go after them once and for all. They can't possibly try to claim that we were all delinquint. One thing i can say is document everything! if you need it later - it's so much better to have dates and times and incidents. God speed!

Be sure to document everything they send you or you send them. Also, keep a journal of your conversations with them and their responses regarding maintenance issues. Have management walk through your apartment with you upon checkout. Take pictures of the entire apartment and also of any existing damage. Read Nebraska Landlord Tenant Laws and educate yourself. I had to hire a lawyer to deal with them. Don't pay if they try to charge you for damages. Also, read the fair credit reporting act and know your rights (they had my "damages owed" listed twice on my credit report. I was able to get both dropped once I disputed the claim).

absolutely the worst place to live. i tried to transfer to a bigger apartment, and they told me there would be no charge. They ended up calling me the day before i was sheduled to move and told me that i would have to pay over $700 dollars. I plan on waiting out my lease and then NEVER dealing with any Richdale company again! Not only have they not responded to any requests on my maintenance, which includes a broken toilet, a smell of cat urine in my closet, and a burn on my vanity (that have all been there since i moved in), but they also kept my $100 transfer fee which i gave them before i knew they were going to screw me over with the last minute transfer fees. NEVER MOVE INTO THE VANDERBILT..im just waiting to have to pay crazy fees when i move out because the person who lived here before me owes them $900 for the burn on my vanity.
