I have just moved into these apartments. I love the fact that there is a washer and dryer in each unit, but i have heard from my neighboor the dryers don't work very well. I will say they are quite spacious for the money, however we put down the deposite for our apartment in mid-May our move in date was May 26. Nothing had been done. The carpets had not been shampooed, nothing was clean, and nothing we had put in our move in move out check list had been fixed. They had said nothing had been fixed because we had not turned in our move in move out checklist, which we had turned in the same day we signed our lease. They shampooed our carpets on May 26, after I talked to them, expressing my disappointment. However that delayed us moving in furiture for another 5 hours. The floors are very creaky and I often wake-up to our upstairs neighboors moving around in their bedroom. The tub and Shower drains are very very slow. Also I have a ball python that was moving in with me. When I called Vista to ask about reptiles the woman I talked to said it was no problem, then when we went to sign the lease in the pet agreement it states "No Reptails" The manage had to call NP Dodge after I told her I was told they were aloud and that was the whole reason I was interested in there property, It worked out they just adjusted the Pet agreement, but poor communication between empoyees. Over all I say poor management when it comes to orginazation, but the staff is pretty friendly for the most part. The apartments aren't horrible for the price.

I'm in complete agreement with you. We gave deposit on our apartment 6 weeks prior to M/I found nothing done at M/I. Their excuse, "we forgot about you." We are now here 1 1/2 yrs. & some of the issues on our list haven't been done from M.I. We were told we could have a charcoal grill & than it changed on M/I day. Exuse was "Oh, Maria told you that well she no longer works here but than our neighbor moved in & proceeded to barbecue on his charcoal grill which he stored under the steps." (Talk about confusion & no communication between management.) The railing on rear of the bldgs. are rusted through, the bushes in front are dying or dead & never replaced, the bar-b-cues in the common area are gross & the landscaping lumber is falling over & rock on the sidewalk which hasn't changed from M/I. Our biggest issue & on-going is the leaky patio doors which whenever it rains, the living-room carpet gets wet. Because of this, we have pests {nightcrawlers & hundreds of roly-polys )have crawled across the carpet & died each time the patio gets wet. Now the patio screen door has buckled & the door jam is buckled from the ice so door doesn't work. I put in a service request 1 wk. ago & called the mgr. to make sure they recieved it but no one has checked it yet. They came armed last summer with the Rainbow Glass man who said "The patio doors are impossible to replace." Bonnie, the manager said, "the next time it rains, we'll have maintenance come & check the door & all other residents patio doors to see if they too have a problem & if they do there's nothing we can do about it & if they don't, there's nothing we can do about it." Laugh, [NOTE: THEY NEVER CAME DURING THE NEXT RAIN OR DURING ANY RAIN THEREAFTER.] She than said, "We know you're not happy here so if you want to move, we'll understand." [Note: no mention though, of their consceding & paying us for breaking their lease, [the lease says alot abt. what happens if we break the lease.] After Rainbow & Bonnie left, I laughed, told all my friends & family about that conversation which brought much laughter because we have managed & done apartment maintenance & found their statements to be ridiculous. Jokes were made about hoping a golf ball doesn't hit the window, tornadoes or the door falling out because of the rot." At that point I hadn't said I was unhappy with the apt. (as it is large with a beautiful view for the money). We are & continue to be only unhappy with the issues at hand. This past winter I had to cover the inside of the bedrm. window with plastic which had so much draft that wind blew it causing the plastic to bow into the room & the vertical blinds to contiually rattle. We also taped the patio door seams all around & at least we didn't have 6" of ice in the track & up the door window like last winter because of the missing or worn out insulation We did sign a lease for a 2nd yr.last fall because we couldn't afford to move at the end of our lease which by the way was 13 mo.s instead of the usual 12 [because of management's mistake]. Since we've lived here, our truck's windshield was cracked [while parked in the parking lot]because of 2 gun-shots. We've had numerous late-night knocks on our door & the door handle of our apartment moving. There is no security & the noise from the apartment above prevents a full-nights sleep at anytime. Each time the tennant above rolls over or gets out of bed we hear it. They have bed springs that creak loudly & it sounds like a herd of elephants with each footstep. Our lease & rules state no animals outside of cats & if that's changed than mgmt. should amend & notify all residents of that. When someone moves in with something like a snake future residents should be told in advance so they can make an informed choice. |
