Do not move here

The complex is old and, although they changed the name to The Heights (to compete with newer complexes, perhaps - what a joke), they've done no renovating or improvements. The windows do not shut tightly and window/door weather stripping is cracked or falling off, so heat/ac run much higher than they should. You can actually hear the neighbors phones ring, coughing and sneezing, even from back rooms. It takes 3-4 minutes for hot water to run and, if someone, even in another apartment, flushes a toilet, the shower will scald you. When management came through for their scheduled check, I noted a few things that still needed to be fixed, including that the dishwasher now was not working properly. I was told, "Oh, you'll have to write that up and get me a note. I won't remember." Thing is, isn't that what she was there for' And she was standing there with a notepad and pen! I've been here almost 9 months and the furnace filter has only been changed twice. In my case, only 1 of my move-in checklist issues was addressed. And, as for complaints and requested repairs - seems like management changes monthly, very high turn-over. The parking lot is very poorly lit - only small lights over the entry doors, no parking lot lights. They sell you on the amenities when you view, like the "sauna" which has not worked since I moved in and the "fitness room" which is cramped and stocked with very old equipment. The cost is comparable, even a bit higher than some of the new, high-end complexes - definitely not worth it. In talking with my neighbors, most of us plan to move once our leases are up.
