The furnace was neglected so much that it began leaking CO gas into my apartment. The apartment has NO Carbon Monoxide Detectors. I had called that the furnace was starting and stopping every 30-60 seconds. The guy came 3 times to fix it. First he adjusted the temperature sensor. Then the cleaned the burners. I insisted that they send someone out at 7pm the third day and when he got here he said that this was really bad and I couldn't use my furnace. He had a handheld CO meter. When he wouldn't tell me was was going on I called the fire department. After 10 minutes of airing out the apartment as the fire alarm went off the fire department still found 0.07% CO gas or 2x a lethal amount. Had I not insisted that they send someone out or had I not called the fire department I would have died within the hour.

Wow! And I thought I had it bad when I lived there Hopefully you can get out of your lease. I had to change my own furnace filter and the ne I took out when I moved in there was so dirty you couldn't even see through it. I moved and couldn't be happier where I am now.

Thank you so much for posting this. I live at these apartments too. I went out and bought a CO detector right after reading this. These wouldn't have to be bad apartments, they have just been neglected and are in need of attention. I'm moving when my lease is up. So glad you are ok!
Peron who commented above...where do you live now?

When I lived there our furnace quit on us in early January and we had no heat for 3 days. They gave us a vacant furnished apartment to stay in but this could've been avoided with more regular furnace checks.
