To the first time guest just checking out the apartments for the first time it does not seem that bad. They have a model apartment for each layout that is kept in immaculate condition.

Getting our apartment on time was kinda unreliable. Myself and 2 other friends filled out apps at the same time and we were moved in in about a 4 month spread from the date the first person got his apartment.

Apartment conditions were average upon moving in. One was great clean and in pretty good condition. The one my wife and I moved into was in pretty bad shape. No electrical, cable, or phone covers were installed just in a big pile in the kitchen. No shelfes in the pantry or closets were installed, so I had to do all that work. The other person in our group was the last to move in and he ended up with a brand new microwave and they even gave hime a welcoming package of kitchen utensils for his kitchen. Our apartment for some reason had a 3 inch wide stip of carpeting about 2 feet long from the middle of the apartment completly missing'''' They never could say whats up with that.

After moveing in its all gets kinda gloomy from there.

The pool when we moved in it was in Febuary - May and the pool went from 3 feet to 6 feet deep. When the summer months came bye it had never been filled we were told that the were redoing it because of cracks in the sides of the pool. Well winter cames and never did get our pool. This summer we fianlly got the pool, but the whole thing is 3 feet deep from side to side, and thats just crappy. I'm not really tall, but standing in the water it just gets to my mid thigh.

Parking sucks. If you do not park in the lot by 4 pm on the weekends or 6pm on the weekdays dont expect to park near your apartment, if you decide to go out on a friday night, expect to walk from the street.

Maintenance.... Alright heres the big area. Since I moved in to my apartment the toilet will randomly, but about ever 4 hours it has to fill up the upper tank because it leaks down to the bowl. We called maintenance, and the sent the maintence guy to fix it, he replaced the flapper valve, no good it still does it. I called again, and he installed another one... I talked to friends who know what their doing and they said the fitting that gowes between the tank and the bowl need to be replaced, I told them that thats what it was and they replaced the flapper valve AGAIN!!! so in 2 years of living here its never been fixed.

Second when we first moved in everyone had there own deadbolt and locks installed. Well management didnt like that or maybe it was still a few people left that had it that way, so the got rid of our locking doorknob (which I really dont like for security reasons.) and changed out the deadbold. The installed a crappy bulk order deadbolt thhat they have the key for. Well I come home for lunch one day and go to unlock my door, and one of the cylinders inside the deadbolt fell out and I COULDNT UNLOCK MY DOOR!! I had them call maintenace and he didnt want to drill out his precious lock, so he slit my one screen and bent the other trying to push the window open, that didnt work so he finally drilled out the lock and replaced it. Except they never fixed my screen so I cannot open my windows when its nice outside since bugs will fly in by the tons.

Theres something up with my water pressure or the pipeing, so ocassionally when you turn on the sink, or everytime you use the dishwasher, we get a loud bang, band, bang, bang, bang, that when we had them come out to fix it, they said nothing was wrong with the dishwasher, and left. since it s not the dishwasher then FIX THE PIPES!!

LAST THING ON MAINTENANCE!!! the apartments art like 14 or 15 years old now, and still have the original water heaters. Ours broke, about 6 months ago everything flooded near our front door. Our neighbors broke about a year back, and the neighbour upstairs just had theirs break a few days ago, their water flowed down the wall into the common area hallway outside our apartment, know it stinks, the carpet stained and the walls are warping, but it only took the about 36 hours to have the cleaner come out and suck up all the water after the office was notified. Speedy service.

All in all, Huntington park apartments are not great at all, but their not slums by far. I would say dont only look here, look at other places. For the size of the apartments they are really small. You can find a better value. The only other place they are lacking is maintenance. They need to improve in this area to get a reccomendation from me, or to get me to renew my lease.
