DO NOT MOVE HERE

This is a privately owned complex, and they will do anything and everything to keep your $500 deposit. The staff is very deceitful and dishonest. We had not even moved in and they found a way to keep our money when the previous renter had not even moved out of the apartment we planned on renting. They are great at lying and bullshiting their way around screwing over their residents. DO NOT CONSIDER MOVING HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BURN MONEY AND GET ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN RETURN!!

Just got my deposit back (2 months later). I lived there for six months with no pets and returned a whole $5. They charged me for carpet cleaning (which were brand new), a 'wire freezer rack' which was NEVER in my apartment (cost = $64), mini blinds and cleaning. DO NOT MOVE HERE, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also going through the exact same thing. We left our apartment in great shape also and it's been over a month and we still have not rec'd our security deposit. We even took our time to clean it and they said it was not done. Absoluty a terrible business and something should be done!

I never lived here though considered it. I think I'll run as far in the opposite direction as possible!
A note for anyone experiencing issues with the return of a deposit... 1) When you move out take photographs of everything. If you have a digital camera make certain your "time stamp" is on. Take especially good pictures of any damage you leave behind. 2) Make absolutely sure the property manager does an exit walk thru with you. Every complex should have you fill out an initial walk thru form showing anything that was pre-existing to you moving in. KEEP YOUR COPY. Also try to take pictures (date stamped) before you move your first piece of furniture in too. 3) When you submit your 30 day notice of intent to move out include the wording that "per Nebraska statutes you have obligation within 14 days to return my deposit of $_____, and an itemization of any costs paid out of my deposit. Please forward my refund to: (include your new address)". If you don't get the refund within the 14 days or a list take them to small claims court. You can represent yourself and when you win, they will have to pay your filing fees too. :)
