I have lived here for over 5 years.
In the last two years this place has really started to fall apart.
The apartment manager plays favorites and if your not one of them you are always being yelled at and scrutinized by her.
I have had things in the house that needed repair and she's barely ever home and you can't get a hold of her on the phone unless you are one of her favorites.
Sometimes I have gotten a hold of her by chance for something to get fixed, but most of the time it didn't happen that way.
It seems like she is gone for days at a time.
The days she is there, if you don't get to her office by 11 am, your too late..
She's gone the rest of the day.
I'm tired of crap falling apart in my apartment and none of it getting fixed because the resident manager isn't home and won't answer her phone all the time.
Once I went to go pay rent and she was gone, like usual, and because I wouldn't put it in her box (because I cannot get a reciept because she's gone) she wrote me up as being late on my payment.
I work during days so I cannot go in to pay rent before 11.
Weekends I can't pay because the manager is never there.
I will not pay without getting a receipt because I have heard personally from other renters that they would put the rent money in her dropbox or just hand the money over to her without a reciept..
Just to have her come back and say she has no memory of getting that money.
I am tired of this place and I hope to move soon. I swear that my apartment gets searched when I leave, even if I have no repairs to get fixed.
I have proof of this being done as I once tied a string to a drawer and the frame.
When I came home it was broken.
I live alone so I know it was one of them.
I have had reports of other tenants on the property that they feel that there apartments are being searched also.
I have heard stories from other tenants that because she did not like them, that she reported them to DHS and has even gone to the meetings in DHS to have their kids removed from the home.
Don't know if this is 100% true, I just heard of it.
Overall, I thought I better write this review for others who are searching for apartments in South Sioux City.
You can move here if you want to but beware.
