This property has seen a lot of abuse since it opened in 2000. A new management company purchased the property in late 2004 so the jury is still out. However, the renter quality is declining. The previous management company did not accept Section 8 so the renters were an upscale mix of professionals. When I moved out in June 2005, there were some shady characters moving in. I had very good experiences with maintenance and little interaction with the office staff. There are tons of pets at the complex, but they are usually not a nuisance. Heritage is gated which is a joke because when the gate opens, at least three cars can get inside. In the winter, the gate is always open because of the snow. Compared to other properties in the area, Heritage is overpriced. The rent includes nothing! The renter must pay heat (gas), water, electricity, etc., etc. When the base rent is $1100 for a one bedroom plus utilities, that is not a deal. Heritage is also a victim of its location. Once an oasis near the river surrounded by trees, heavy sprawl development by the greedy town of Bedford on Route 3 is ruining the experience. In addition to the new Hampton Inn, Target, Lowes, and over 55 housing, there is an ugly power substation going into the woods near the walking trails. Spend your money elsewhere!
