.. and some thing are inherent in that: you ***will*** occasionally hear your neighbors or cars. And like anywhere else, the more you pay, the more likely it is that you'll have considerate, "upscale professional" neighbors.
Because I'd lived in other apartment complexes, I knew what I wanted... and what I didn't. I looked at several other communities before selecting this one. I specifically asked for a quiet building with middle-aged (or older) residents, quiet pets, and few or no kids --and I was accommodated.
My building is well-maintained, and I've found the staff to be exceptionally gracious and accommodating. Every time I've put in maintenance requests, it was handled within 24 hours... and competently. When I moved in, the maintenance staff hung my ceiling fan at no cost.
Yes, I wish some of the other tenants would keep their decks tidier, but the majority of them have lovely gardens, upscale deck furniture. Even though it's only rentals, I sense a real pride of "ownership."
And like some of the other posters, I find the open gates annoying. (But it sure beats sliding into them on an icy morning!) Snow and trash removal are adequate.
The 24-hour fitness center is a real benefit, as are the free use of the business center, free video/DVD "rentals", and use of the media room. They have a free "pet sitting" service, which makes it easy for me to travel.
The units have 9-foot ceilings, which doesn't seem like much until you've lived somewhere with shorter ones. The in-apartment laundry room is a nice touch.
As a single woman living alone, I feel totally safe here.

"Because I'd lived in other apartment complexes, I knew what I wanted... and what I didn't." To those who have submitted complaints to this website, take the advice of this woman...figure out what you want. If you don't want dog poo on your walk way, ask to be placed in a building with minimal/no dogs...No apartment community is perfect, but if you don't ask up front, then you shouldn't complain!
