I saw these apartments with my boyfriend. They were very nice. The grounds were nice, however, I was told that in order to be approved, my boyfriend and I needed to have minimul income of 47,000 a year. We were pretty sure together we made that, so we were told we needed to both fill out an application to have our credit run for $25 a piece, but they couldn't do that until we wrote them out a 500.oo deposit check which they said they wouldnt cash until we were approved. As it came back, my boyfriend had great credit, mine was not approved. We could not provide the adequate information on the investments listed as source of income, so we called them and asked for our security deposit back. We were told No, and that we only had 24 hours to make a decision from the time our deposit was taken! How could they keep our deposit if we never even met the Income requirements! We were shourt by about 3 grand a year! After I tried talking to management, i was referred to the Assistant manager who then began screaming at me when i told her that her leasing Consultants need to tell the prospective Renters about this 24 hour policy! She was very rude to me and I was so upset I hung up on her! I would not recommend this place to anyone! You can hear the highway from the apartments also. They then told me I was going to go to collections!!! I have great credit and was denied due to the divorce i just recently went through. If you have money to pay the rent, and your getting back on your feet, Look elsewhere! They just want your money!!!

Its pretty sad that you don't know how much a year you make. You should stay living with your parents until you figure that out. It costs money to check up on all that.

I don't know where "stay away they take your money" is thinking of, but Heritage on the Merrimack is VERY quiet. We've lived here for 2 years and have never heard any noise from the highway.
My guess is this couple have no idea how to rent an apartment (regarding the money issues, which we never had those kind of problems with either btw) and were going on sympathy value with the noise comment.

It sounds to me as if the management is giving there opinion here too! However the bottom line is... apartment communities have income guidelines for a reason. The first is to make sure they are protected from having to evict someone if they can't pay their rent. The second is to TRY to keep the community up to par and keep out as much riff raff as possible. My advice would would to try and rent somewhere cheaper! Good Luck

the purpose of the forum is to post reviews by those who have lived here. your poor credit, willingness to sign a contractual agreement without understanding it, and payment of a deposit without a guarantee are your fault, not that of the management. you should never pay a security deposit for an item not guaranteed [to be the object secured].
