They Don't Care!

On the surface, the apartments are o'kay. However, we have built up a myriad of complaints that have gone unanswered by even top level management.
Because the walls are thin, noise levels are a problem, particularly with younger tenants who tend to be noisier.
The "workout room" (NOT) is a joke. Try pulling a bunch of dilapidated stationary bikes, rowing machines and treadmills out of the dumpster, cram everything into a room, and call it a gym.
The maintenance staff is a bit of a problem. We once had a maintenance man leave our slider door open after he left, leaving our cat to roam free. Another gentleman replaced a large screen and left the old one in our garbage, rather than carrying it out and disposing of it elsewhere.
The parking lots tend to be crowded but what's worse is the perimeter road, which is unlit and not sidewalked, very treacherous.
The laundry facilities are inadequate. Frequent breakdowns are ignored by management, even in spite of multiple complaints. What's worse, is they have maddeningly raised the cost to operate the washers and dryers, apparently at no benefit to us.
Finally, rent is raised every year just over 6%, but this year it was jacked up by 8% -- not appropriate considering the management's lack of interest in their own tenants. Our advice: get a mortgage.

Ha ha! I totally agree with you about the "workout room"! I guess if you put two pieces of crummy gym equipment picked up from Goodwill and place them in a closet! The walls ARE awfully thin, too. I can hear people next door cough and sneeze! The carpeting here is also pretty gross. Not sure what I'm paying a pet fee for!
