Alton Woods is a nice place to live. HOWEVER, the pleasant management cannot make up for the VERY THIN WALLS. I constantly hear the tenant below me and on one side of me. (And I'm talking about TV and normal talking.) I would rather pay a higher rent for better insulation between the apartments. The balconies aren't private either. When we sit outside, we feel like we're constantly being watched! Parking is good, especially if you have a carport ($25). The elderly here do feel like they own the place and that you and your family are just renting. I don't let that bother me though. Most of nice. Like the other previous comments, gaining entrance in and out of the complex and can take some time, especially during peak times. (If you can change your work schedule to accomodate for this--you'll be golden! Most of us can't!) Other than the VERY THIN WALLS, it can be a nice place to live, especially if you like large apartment complexes, with little privacy.

A recent theft in my building of a check book and doors left openwhere this is little security, stolen clothes from the laundry room, the fridge sounding like a broken down truck most of the time..but "if it still freezes your food we can't do anything for you." After 8 months of waiting on them to replace carpeting that have admitted to being un livable, the carpeting after two weeks of being cleaned is so bad with heavily soiled I think I have to warn you to run the other way. they don't keep there word, although come across as very nice in the beginning. The lawyer I've contacted has been in touch with them, yet there hasn't been even a phone call from . After theft of a large amount and charges being brought on her, carpeting only acceptable for two weeks because the stains naturaaly come back perminently...you'd think that they would understand that the filthy pool as well, would send any seeker elsewhere. Very sorry to report such a bad experience with them, but the truth needs to be told and we have a responsibilty to be honest to fellow people. Treat others the way you'd like to be treated. Taking my rent of 900.00, and not fulfilling their obligations is just wrong. sorry tenant

Management has "always" been very responsive to my needs and I want to disagree with the above response. My only problem is that people do not always pick up after their pets, which irritates me to no end! If residents would be responsible for their pets this would be a better community!!

I agree about the walls. But did you do your home work? Like asking for a building away from play areas and lots of children? Did you walk around the complex and visit your "apartment to be" when people arrive home from work? No apartment has sound proofed walls and making sure your personal space is quiet is your responsibility. Never rent on the first or second floor if you are able to walk three flights...that's a no, no in anyones book.
