We're so happy we're NOT living at The Fairways

My husband and I were very disappointed with The Fairways. The noise level was ridiculous and management could care less that neighbors were being disruptive. My husband and I had to switch apartments because noisy neighbors were allowed to have subwoofers. As 2 young professionals, we were surrounded by people who didn't work and had no respect for others around them. Management's solution was to allow thier behavior and move us.
Our next apartment was better, however the noise continued to be a problem. Neighbors with dogs were allowed to let them out on the deck and bark all hours of the day. This then caused a chain reaction amongst the other dogs in the area. Children were running up and down the halls, up and down the stairs, and using the common area as their play area. There were profanities carved into the stairwell, and on the front call box list. Uncalled for and unpunished. Management could care less.
We had an airconditioner in our bedroom for the summer months because the unit for the apartment was from 1980 and did nothing. Following the window change we were unable to put our airconditioner back in the window and were told to purchase fans. The window change was announced 2 days before, and the men working were an hour early. It was a good thing I had gotten up and ready when I did, they just would have come in anyway.
The take home message with The Fairways is that if you work, are a professional and are respectful of others, you get the short end of the stick. I don't think they should advertise to those of us who hold jobs and need a decent place to live. It's for a different crowd of renters.

I agree 100% with your comments. We too were working professionals with the same issues, and had a medical note for a lung condition to leave the bedroom A/C in and they still didn't. We are very happy we left.

I am honestly surprised at the responses because I was offered to rent at The Fairways, and loved what I saw. It looked clean, modern, and had an indoor pool, hot tub, and indoor gym. However, once management found out that I didn't make 2.5 times the cost to rent, they took back the offer to rent, and I picked up my deposit. I am a hardworking, single woman with great credit and a steady job, and all because I didn't make 2.5 times cost to rent, they wouldn't let me rent. Yet, it sounds like they rent to complete scumbags...it sounds totally unfair! Now I feel kind of glad I didn't end up at Fairways, especially if I put my car at risk to get broken into!

The number of dogs is a problem...the walkways are lined with yellow snow. the nature of the buildings have changed with all the dogs allowed. too bad.

i live at the fairways and i disagree. of course there are the occasional noises (apt building C'mon...) i have seen kids around, never loud or rude (to me or my fiance) and when i walk my dog i never see anyone leave the mess behind. long story short, i think a few disgruntled people who felt they should get something different than apartment style living...while living in an apartment. im a young professional, and my fiance is in Grad school, and we really have ZERO problems, the maintence people are nice and respond very fast. all the walls and carpet are in great condition, and the appliances are also great. so id say just because a few people didnt like it and feel put out...it should not disuade people from checking this place out.

Overall, I have been happy as a tenant but am disappointed by the reduced club house hours and limited washers and dryers. There are two washers and two working dryers for more than 20 apartments. It can be challenging to find an available machine at times. I understand that the nature of the economy and the higher number of vacancies is likely contributing to cut backs. I wish the club house wasn't closed on Sundays though. It would be nice if Saturdays and Sundays could maintain normal hours and decrease time during the week instead as a suggestion. Not sure if Fairways staff reviews our comments and tries to act on them where possible.
