We moved in in Nov 2008.Since the day we moved in we have regreted this move.
The staff assured us that the Fairways was a quiet fun and safe place to live.
We moved onto derry way.(this is one of the better sections)One of the large two bedrooms.On the first night the people down the hall were fighting,then took it outside where there was a physical altercation.
They fought every day for 3 months like this till one of them moved out(not by complaints to management).But that didn't help because there were new people moving in with the same issues every day it seams.
The drugs,well you can't walk into the building without walking into a cloud of pot smogg.
My teenage son makes it well known that he knows what is going on in the building.
The children that live here,DON'T HAVE PARENTS THAT WATCH THEM OR CARE WHAT THEY DO,they throw stuff at tennants cars,steal,mouth off (some of the worst potty mouths I have ever heard,keep your windows and doors shut)every day the fire dept is here it seams,because the kids pull the alarms.
The maintance people won't even walk to the club house to use the rest room,they stand by their vehicle,whip it out and urinate in the parking lots.
There was a shooting and a stabbing in the last 6 months here.The cops are always arresting someone,there pressence is known but ignored by the trouble makers.
The ammenaties offered would be nice if they kept them clean.
The pool water is salty (body sweat and pee in your mouth ,GROSS),They are always full of the trouble makers so you can't enjoy the club house at all so don't use that incentive as a reason to move in.
We were told that at move in we would have clean stain free carpet or it would be new,and that the rest of the apartment would be in clean and brand new like condition.
The carpet was in poor condition the people who put it in are idiots they cut it too short so it doesn't reach the walls and there are seams all over it,which has caused me to go through 3 vacs in 9 months,there were stains all over the carpet.
When we notified the office they said they would have someone fix it before we moved in.
Well they did not ,in fact they didn't even wash it,there was so much carpet powder in it that it took me 2 months of running the vac over it every day and washing it twice (which did help the appearance a little)to get it all out.
I could go on but don't have the time,to busy looking for our new place to move as we will be breaking our lease as soon as we find one.BEWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO! Read the news about Derry&the fairways before you make the choice to live in missery for a year!

Hi, sorry to hear of your bad experience. I haven't seen those things thankfully. However, I am i on Fairway drive. The pool appears to be clean when i've gone down and I enjoy regular use of he tennis courts. My apartment was in pretty good shape except for the maintenance people who installed the windows scuffed up the walls and never repaired it. My neighbors happen to be friendly. But I did join the neighborhood watch to help keep the place safe. The kids have been polite to me. i had one of them over to play with my niece who was visiting. I hope I never have any neighbors move in like the ones you guys have. Maybe the Fairways could find you an apartment in another building. Building -- is pretty decent. I know there is a woman in a corner unit moving out soon.

Sadly, I have had similar experiences to the first posting, however my carpet, appliances, and size of apt. is very nice (but have also gone through a few vacuums since moving in almost 2 years ago). The smoke (Pot included) is a frequent occurrence and the kids are terrible!!! I can not believe that in this world people would allow their kids (and I am talking small children) to go unsupervised. The winter months here can be deceiving because all the kids are inside, but once summer gets here, park your car somewhere else and get used to using your air conditioner(which doesn't work too well) to keep out the noise. Everywhere will have its mixture of both good and bad neighbors and I do believe the management is trying harder to get out the bad (2 neighbors kicked out since I have been here due to complaints). They have also been very good to me, but the rent is too high for what you deal with.
