My roommate and I did all right in the Gardens (think of living in a 50s apartment complex), but nothing beats a house or at least a duplex for having a lived-in look and feel. The noise level was horrible, with obnoxious neighbors to the right of and beneath us. The walls were paper-thin and so were our neighbors' tempers. Everything else was pretty much average, but the sum of the parts basically added up to less. If I couldn't find any other places in 4 or 5 towns to live in, I'd go back to the Gardens... temporarily. Two very nice things about FFG, though, were the pool and the office staff (though they were too scared of our neighbors to do anything about our problems). They may have improved in the past few years, though, to which I must say: I hope so.
