Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
When I first moved in, the apartment wasn't even cleaned, but management claimed it was. The windows were dirty, there was stuff on the floor and the kitchen still had the old used and dirty shelf paper from the last tenant, not to mention the cable box sitting in the middle of the floor.
Last fall I had an issue where the thermostat broke, so I had to live in a sauna of temps between 82-86 for a couple weeks until they managed to get it fixed, this after I was told by the manager that "it's just the normal sounds of the heat coming up for the first time" and that it would be fine in a day or so.
I've also had issues with plumbing and had to have them come in at least 4 or 5 times to fix it, while the office has asked me almost every time if I did something to it. I don't appreciate the fact that they seem to think the tenants are causing problems to their apartments. They don't bother to tell you when something is fixed unless you call to ask them, as in an appliance. My stove was broken when I moved in and after they had it checked, I had to call to find out the result, then I had to call to find out when they were getting the new one. It would be nice if they could be bothered to let you know what is going on with your own apartment.
Makes me soooo glad I'm looking to move, just wish I had checked on here before I moved in to this one.
