Thin walls, small closets, a tad pricey, but otherwise great

I've been living at Highwood Village for three years now and am quite satisfied overall.
The staff is just fantastic; they're very good about responding to problems and are always friendly. Even special requests are nicely handled.
The premises are clean and largely bug-free (spiders being a minor nuisance in summer). Although it's always possible to find a parking spot, it's difficult to find one near buildings 1 & 3 after work.
More pressing is sound, which is a substantial problem (though this obviously depends on your neighbors). My first year was great; my second wasn't bad, except for an dysfunctional family below; but in my third year the new kids upstairs dragged things along the floor and ran the subwoofer a little loud. I can't fairly complain about their behavior--the new neighbor below let me know my barefoot footsteps were loud. The ceiling/floor is just that thin. The residents themselves tend to be reclusive, but are nice enough. There appears to be a fair sized population of students from the local college, but they're well behaved. Safety and rambuciousness aren't problems.
The apartments themselves are quite acceptable apart from the small closets and aforementioned thin floors/ceilings. I haven't had any problems with the cabinets or appliances in either of the two apartments I've rented here. Note also that studio/efficiency apartments are very rarely available.
The included wireless internet is handy, albeit flakey. Rent also includes a DirectTV premium package, gas heating and water (as well as garbage disposal). The on-site washers and dryers work well, though some of the latter dry better than others. The exercise room is also quite acceptable. I haven't made use of the tennis court or pool.
If you work or study at Saint Anselm College or in the Pinardville area, the location should work out nicely for you. However, there's no sidewalk outside of the property, nor is there convenient public transportation, so you really do need to drive everywhere. Pinardville works out to be fine for groceries or take-out, but for more than that you'll need to head over to Bedford or Manchester. The rent is a bit high for the location, however.
It's a nice place overall.
