After deciding against staying in Wildwood this year for our short vacation, we decided to try the Hampton Beach area for the very first time. We went through all the various hotel places online and couldn't decide on anything due to the fact that we have a small dog that we didn't want to leave back home. We also have 2 small children, so we would have wanted at least 2 beds. As our quest went on, we basically couldn't find anything that would accept pets, or, was too far from the beach, etc.

Out of frustration, my wife called the chamber of commerce to see if there was any decent places to stay that would meet our needs, including welcoming pets and children, and fairly close to the beach. Low and behold, they gave us the number of the Ocean Air Properties, which turned out to meet all of our needs, including accepting small pets and proximity to the beach--the place is literally 1 block to the beach.

The first thing to know about the property is that it's not a hotel room. You would be getting yourself a recently-updated modern, 2-room suite with a full kitchen (full-sized fridge, pots and pans, plates and utensils, outdoor grill, picnic tables, garbage disposal, oven/microwave, cooking island and dishwasher). You will also find a huge bathroom with a washer/dryer and full shower and room in there to move and change comfortably. On-site parking is safe and easy. There's a TV in the living room area and the bedroom with full cable. I picked up full wifi the entire trip. You will have big bay windows to let the light in if you want, as well as windows in the bedroom and bathroom. The management is absolutely the best I have ever seen in the hospitality industry. The room was clean and fresh when we arrived. The entire staff was at our beck and call and went out of their way to make sure we would have everything we needed--even when we were only staying 3 days.

Here's the best part(s) of our trip to the property:

We figured we would use the pull-out couch, which doubles as a bed the first night we got there and put the kids in the real bed in the next room. As we pulled out the bed, it was pretty much torn to shreds and bent almost to the floor. We decided to just take the mattress off and put it on the floor and slept there the first night. Not a huge deal, but somewhat not the most comfortable obviously. We mentioned it to the management the next morning and--all exaggeration aside--they literally took out the old couch and purchased a brand-new couch with pull out sofa, never touched by anyone before us. I'm not kidding--this happened in roughly less than an hour the very next morning. Just because I couldn't believe it and I know nobody else would, I actually took a photo of the old sofa on the back of the pickup truck being hauled to the dump!

A few other small details we noticed were some broken door handles, a bad showerhead and a broken luggage stand when we got there. Also mentioning this to the management, these things were either replaced or repaired in less than a half-hour, all with a smile!

One night when cooking some lobster, we found out that the pot that was in the apartment was too small--within minutes, a new larger pot from the management appeared and we cooked away! Next morning, we mentioned that we were going to buy a small beach cooler--low and behold, a staff member offered us to use hers for the day, saving us the $20 we would have spent on one. All the while, I can hear the staff outside the window milling about and saying "hello" and "do you need anything" to anyone within earshot. As I went out to walk our dog around the block, I was offered a dog treat for the dog by the management. The staff also let us borrow lighter fluid for the grill and were always there to see if we needed more towels or anything else. It's the small touches as this that would not only make me *want* to stay here next year, but, literally not choose to stay in any other city or beachtown but Hampton Beach (which is the cleanest beach I have ever seen--I have never seen a beach without garbage, jellyfish, etc. washing up and this beach was immaculate every day we went to it)

I have never seen anyone in any hotel literally *REPLACE AN ENTIRE COUCH WITH A BRAND-NEW ONE* within a half-hour, or, fix things the moment you mention them, all without any complaint or hassle from the staff. I'm not at all joking or exaggerating about this place. You need to stop staying in smaller and dirty hotels and consider visiting Hampton Beach and at least giving the Ocean Air Properties a try. We paid slightly more than a similar sized hotel room, but, as I said, a hotel can never even come near this place whatsoever, even here in Hampton Beach. The staff and management clearly spell out that they want to know about the problems you may find (and actually do something about them), because they want you to return the next time.

There's just nothing else I can say about this place except that it's amazing and I will definitely not only return whenever possible, but I will make sure to tell anyone who is thinking about vacationing to book a room here.
