I lived under Greenwald Reality for 3 years of my college experience and every year I said that I was not going to sign another lease with Greenwald. Mitch is a great conartist and uses the massive housing shortage in Keene to take advantage of college students. His apartments are small and overpriced and the only way to get Mitch to respond on maitenence calls is to withhold his rent checks. If you can find other housing in Keene it?s well worth it, though Greenwald owns half the town. A woman came into my work and said she was new to the area and needed names of landlords. When I told her stay away from Greenwald she told me I was the third person to tell her that. My first year as a Greenwald tenant someone spraypainted "Greenwald is a scum lord" on the wall of one of his buildings. Looking back it seems appropriate. Rooms in Emerald court do not even have walls that go up to the ceiling so you can hear everything in other rooms and hallways get trashed and stay that way for weeks. Mitch is a circle talker and will lie to benefit himself. If you need anymore proof not to rent with Greenwald just ask a few random people when you get to Keene. His reputation is well known. If you do sign a lease with Greenwald make sure you keep a copy. He will hold you to every line but he will never hold up his end without the threat of laywers. Good luck if you get in business with Greenwald, but there are many great landlords in Keene. I strongly suggest trying them first. They are more honest and their properties are nicer and much more worth the money.
