I saw the negitive remarks are all old. Bass Island has changed a much larger percentage of owners now live in the complex. The central location is great for me and the prices have held and are very affordable. The heat is controled in each unit and never has been a problem for me. Like every big complex you meet some(different)people but I have never had a problem. Frankly everyone seems to be nice enough. Parking is tightly controled but that is a good thing keeps unwanted people out. I haven't had to call for repairs so I can't speak for that but the grounds and external building conditions are good.

I have lived at Bass Island for eight years and well other than the heat is not there and harvard sucks big time the people here are over all very nice people..the building they are cracking and falling apart one day the one I am in will end up in the riverfor sure...its cheap money but not worth a lot..if the board and the owns would get there acts together and learn what the most inportant things are and take care of them and not lie to the people things would be so much better around here but its getting that no one cares because the board lies to people so much...not a bad place if the board would do what they are saying they would do but they are making it the way it is.....Tim ..Steve get your act together and keep your word....

Considering buying a condo at Bass Island Estates? or renting? Having been here over a year let me tell you the truth. Most of the people are not, repeat not owners, they are for the most part renters. Renters with a large turnover.
Kids that run yelling up & down the hallway & slam doors, dogs that let go in the hallway, car vandalism, frequent police ,fire, & ambulance presence. This week it was 4 cruisers & a K9 unit kicking on a door at 4 AM. Yeah fun. Paper thin walls with no insulation let you hear it all. Property values have held? I've talked to many owners who would sell & move if it didn't mean taking such a loss.
Harvard Management is very very very far from perfect & have proven difficult for many people to deal with. There are a lot of empty units and a lot of owners not paying the monthly maintenance dues. God help you if you or a friend or family member should park in the wrong spot. They claim, in writing, that there are 2 parking spots for every unit. OK Math 101 says 2 parking spots X over 150 units = 300 parking spots at least right? There are less than 200. Get used to that kind of logic if you move here.
This is all true, though a lot of owners, who are hoping to sell some day, would not be happy to hear me tell you about it. Best of luck.
