Has progressively gone downhill

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
Have lived here since 2004, it has progressively gone downhill on many fronts. We didn't find out about the $25/month, per pet clause until move in day, which was absolutely ridiculous, especially since that was one of out first questions and we were told there were no pet fees.
After that management was OK. They kept the place looking good constantly which was nice. They also catered to young families with their clubhouse activities, which made us feel comfortable. Rent would go up approx, $25 each year. Overall it was ok to live here.
Then last year the place was bought out by a larger company and they, to be frank, suck. They basically have dropped off the planet as far as service. No more activities, charges for each guest at the pool. Clubhouse/gym periodically being closed with little or no warning. Landscaping stopped. More police presence. Just a general feeling like they can cut all overhead costs and think that no one will notice.New management decided to remove one of the two door locks (the doors were self locking). We were told "this would actually make things safer". It was really so they didn't have to keep unlocking people who would lock themselves out.
I can't wait to leave.
