Do not live here, period!

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
Had I known from the beginning how difficult it would be to live here, I never would have settled here. If you are really desperate for a place to stay, then this is your kind of place. I have resorted to fumigating my own apartment because, management never fumigates. Spider, ants and all kinds of nasty critters everywhere. Maintenance is slow to act when called upon. Not to long ago there was a water leak inside the building and the water managed to get into my apartment and the one next door. As a result fungi and mushrooms were growing out of the wall and unto the wet carpet. I notified management and maintenance that day, and it took them 4 days to do something about it. And that's only because I gave them a call back regarding the status of the water leak. They hadn't fixed it! Not to mention I suffered an allergy induced asthma attack due to the spores and mold and my computer workstation suffered water damaged due to their incompentence, ineptness and indolence. I had to do all the cleaning. During winter, snow plowing and having to remove your car from the parking lot (otherwise, management will tow it away) is a headache; especially if you have two cars. Winters, can also be cold. All apartments have water based heaters and they didn't do much heating during last year's winter of 2003. I had to resort on buying my own electrical heater from home depot, that of course resulted in a higher priced electric bill. Management here is to cheap to renovate the apartments with more modern and adequate heaters. If you would like to have your own designated parking space, then don't expect anything from this place. Finding parking is also a hassle, especially if you plan arriving late from work. Noise, can at times be a nuissance as well, especially if you live next to the entrance/exit to the building. You can hear people running down/up the stairs, smell the brand of cigarretes the person is smoking outside, your neighboor turning on the shower faucette, people slamming doors, etc. The grounds outside are well kept, but unless you're planning on camping and living outside (not that you can)it doesn't really matter. Living inside is what counts. Being from the south, I don't know whether it's the new england attitude or what, but the main management lady in the main office always treats clients in a sarcastic tone when receiving a complaint and is slow in remedying a problem when required. Of course it's never their problem. All they're interested in is collecting your hard earned money dubbed as rent. If you are planning on filing a complaint, then make sure that the thin blonde assistant manager is there when you do. She is more understading and has better social and customer skills than her supervisor. I'm just glad that my lease is almost over so that I may find a better place to live and where they actually treat their clients with better respect and dignity. Even if it means paying a higher rent. After all, the stay isn't free. I have to pay to live in that hole.
