The Residences of Manchester Place
< Prev Review | >
You pay $1600 a month to live with a bunch of kids whose parents co-sign their leases for them while they go to school. I'm in total agreement with the last two posts about Manchester Place. It has such potential, but I think they're desperate to fill vacant apartments in the building so it seems like they've relaxed their criteria or something. The staff is nice, but I would stay here if they could take care of all of the vandalism, noise, and garbage left everywhere. The two women in the office seem to do the most, are friendly, and they get things done. The maintenance staff is another story. I actually saw them smoking in an apartment they were cleaning when someone had moved out. I was walking by as one of them was leaving and I was just horrified. The head maintenance guy is always hanging out like he just lives here and doesn't need to act professionally. I could complain about a number of different things I've seen and experienced in the past year and a half, but it wouldn't get my anywhere. If the manager reads this, please do something to make living here better for those of us that respect each other. Please stop allowing young adults to live here when they don't meet the requirements unless their parents step in. Please hire a security guard that didn't die 5 years ago and no one told him. I've seen large groups of kids come in the front doors, and he doesn't even take his nose out of his book. Please hire a maintenance person that doesn't look like Joe Dirt, smoke cigarettes out in the back loading dock all day, and who doesn't look down at the floor when you pass him like he shouldn't have to say hi to residents when he's on the clock. I love the leasing agents. They're fantastic women. Unless these problems are corrected, I want to leave at the end of my lease and go somewhere else. Every time I have to kick a beer bottle out of my way, endure the smell of human urine in the elevator, or shut my window because there's a group of idiots screaming in the courtyard it makes me angry that I pay such a large amount of rent to live here.

@Anonymous:
I agree with you about the dorm factor resulting what appears to be co-signing; it does need to be addressed. That said, I find your critique of the maintenance and security staff rude and out of line??not to mention unneeded. There are improvements that can be suggested at Manchester Place, of course; the largest being the noise on weekends during college season. If they address that problem with tailored policies, Manchester Place will be pretty tight.
