Decent place with minor complaints

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
My boyfriend and I have been living in Washington Park for about 2 years now, and so far the experience has been ok.
We have a two bedroom, two and a half bath apartment. The size of the apartment is much larger than similar complexes, and the price is pretty reasonable. Parking is a bit of a problem. They only give you one parking sticker per bedroom. Parking on the street isn't too bad, but when there is a parking ban in the winter you have to park in the public parking garage on the other side of town. Most of our neighbors are polite and pretty much keep quiet, however we have had a bit of a problem with one family in our building. It seems as though they don't care at all that they live in an apartment building and have neighbors below them and on each side. They play their music loud with the base turned up high, and they stomp around as if elephants were dancing in their apartment. Their children throw things off of the balcony and kick balls around in the parking lot. They speak English, but like to pretend not to when you approach them about their behavior. We, along with other neighbors, have complained about them on numerous occasions, but so far nothing has come from it. Maintenance is another issue. They usually have to come out more than once to fix the problem. Earlier this summer we complained about our air conditioner. The thing was ancient and only blew semi-cool air. Maintenance came out twice and claimed that it was working fine. We finally had to threaten to leave to get our new air conditioner. However, the woman from the front office was very polite about the whole situation. She always followed up each maintenance visit with a phone call and even called to make sure that the new air conditioner was working well for us.
Overall I think that Washington Park is a decent place to live. I wouldn't stay here for the rest of my life, but it is certainly adequate until we have enough money to buy a house.
