Beautiful Place Definitely

I was here for a short while and yes the place is beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous! The place is a haven of wild life and I don't mean college. Like any place you may go there will be hassles be it big or small. There will be people who care and people who don't. It all depends on you and the current situation you are in. True there was an assault on the property earlier in the year but that was during the Winn ownership and not the Sentinel one. Being from New Jersey I can tell people you are a hell of a lot safer here than you think. Just be smart and watch your surroundings, simple as that. Don't assume any place is going to be Mayberry, Andy. Be smart, be alert. As for the auto vandalism well if you drive a BMW and leave all sorts of high priced gadgets in it like gps and radar detectors, you get what you get. You are living right next door to Countryside Village with substantially lower rents. Think like a New Yorker and you will have no problems. If you don't know how then ask one of the neighbors, one is bound to be one.
I will say the rent is overpriced for some and maybe just right for others. For us it just got too unreal. The payment in most cases ($1500 to $2000) is a mortgage so with that it's time to buy a house again.
There is no playground yet or any place really for the kids to play here. You have to truck them to the nearest playground in Manchester which can be a hassle. Winn management stated a playground would be in place in Spring but that didn't happen then they sold us off. Sentinel says they are bidding on it but nothing yet. The schools for this site is not very good. As a matter of fact Manchester schools are in desperate need of improvement. The Northwest school for this facility was last reported as needing improvement on the No Child Left Bechind list.
I say this is a fantastic place for quiet students and for the advid professional but not for families. Parking is getting tight but everything is well lit. On a cloudy night you can see the light reflection from here like a small city. Now that should tell you something.
There is a couple of issues you should be made aware of. One is that you will have all utilities as a bill and that includes water and sewer. Yes I said water and sewer. If your building is less rented then your water bill will be higher, but if your building is highly rented then your water bill should be less. It's all done by cost averaging amongst all the renters. I even think you help pay for the sprinklers watering around your building. Since they turned those on my bill went up. Second is try not to get an apartment near the elevator. The buildings are steel framed and mechanical noise carries well in the x08's and the x10's. There are 3 floors. First floor Maple 108's master bedroom shares a wall with the mechanical room. Two huge boilers, which keep your room toasty without expense in the winter and the elevator mechanicals. If you like whooshing, hissing, blower motors, and hydraulic banging then 08 is for you. If you want 2 bedroom then you really really need to get into the Cedar's. They are awesome!
Good luck all and remember it's what you like and what you are used to that determines your happiness. If you don't try you won't know.
Carry on. Semper Fi
