Beautiful place...but read your lease

I have lived here for 2 years and have very few complaints. Neighbor noise is as good as you can expect living in an apartment complex and the apartments are beautiful. The third floor units are particularly nice with the high ceilings and sky lights. The washer/dryer in each unit is also a really nice feature.
My biggest/only complaint is that you have to provide 60...let me repeat that 60! days notice that you are leaving. We were preparing our move at the end of our lease and went to notify the office 30 days before hand, but it turns out that we need to provide them with 60 days notice that we are leaving...even thought it's at the end of the lease. We are now stuck paying for an extra month's rent. I don't know how they can expect that people even know they are leaving 2 months before their lease ends.

The lease may say that but legally at the end of your lease you could just turn in the keys. No judge will hold you accountable for that notice fee since your lease is ending. NH law is pro tenant. Ask a lawyer. A 60 day notice is pretty standard in all the apartment places.

I had the same problem. I was there four years. I knew I was buying a house so didn't want to sign a new lease. I gave them the 60 days notice then had to go month-by-month at a premium price until I closed on my home. They were most uncooperative and didn't miss an opportunity to stick it to me. Sentinel are not a reasonable group. Problem is that the management is a public company and only care about profit. See their web site. http://www.sentinelcorp.com/ "seek out the best real estate values in the marketplace and then enhance those assets through INTENSIVE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT" Great if you're a shareholder; unforturnate if you are a tenant. Avoid dealing with these clowns it you can.
