Year of Hell

I'm not even sure where to begin. I came, looked at a unit, put a deposit down on it, and they gave it away. I should have known then. The people in the office couldn't see the problem with that, and I had to ask twice for them to find me another one. The day I moved in was fun. They first tried charging me a different price for rent when I came to sign papers. The day I moved in the hot water heater blew up as well. This caused the sheetrock to bubble, and they did the best job they could to fix it a few days later. It still looks like hell. I had to put a picture over it. Shortly thereafter we had a problem with wolf spiders. I've never seen bugs that big. The heating bills were outrageous because the furnace just ran all winter long. I called several times to ask if something could be done, but no one ever came. Maintenance came to fix the garbage disposal instead of the furnace once. That was funny. It must have been a slight mix up in the office. A month ago the front bedroom had about 20 flies buzzing around. Mind you there was no food or anything. The week prior to that I came home to a river in my kitchen because the garbage disposal blew up sometime during the day when no one was home. The bathroom looks like it's something out of 1987. No matter how much I spruced it up I still feel dirty in there. I can't open my windows in my bedroom because so many mosquitos and bugs get in. I can hear my neighbor's TV through the wall. They must have recently reduced the rent because all of the sudden in the past few weeks there is nothing but trash running around my street. The neighbor across the way sits in the garage drinking beers and smoking butts on lawn furniture. At the end of the street there's always kids riding their bikes around unsupervised with cars all over the place.

Honestly the only reason I picked to live here was that I had a front door and parking just outside it. At this point, I'd rather live in a garden style apartment and walk a mile to my car. I am embarassed to have anyone come over anymore for fear when I walk through the door with them something will have blown up, crawled in, or fallen apart. I cannot wait to get out of here. I don't usually complain, but this has been the worst experience of my life. I completely agree with the other posts on here about the office staff. They are unbelievable. They are some of the rudest people I've ever interacted with in my life. This coupled with the lovely threatening newsletters they send out that look like they were written by someone with a 5th grade education really turns me off about Wellington Hill. There's nothing like blanket letters sent to everyone threatening eviction for breaking rules that aren't grammatically correct.

Don't be fooled by the condo-like structures here. They may seem appealing, but honestly you're better off somewhere else. Maybe if another management company comes in and does a complete overhaul of the staff in the office and the units themselves it'll be worth it. Right now it's like Section 8 over here.

I use to live there until we had many of the same problems and then some. At one point I was told to take care of my own repairs by the Maint. staff and they would give me what I needed(and they did). They even agreed the place is a mess in regards to trying to keep it repaired. It's been a few years since I lived there but when I did the locker rooms for the pools and gym were falling apart and patched so many times it looked like a quilt(GRIN). They had such bad staff, one year the staff even had problems with the manager and the home office fired her after much harm had been done. One of the last things that made us leave was when I got muged while runing one night and the police got the call for help mixed up with a car theft at the bottom of the hill(nice to know ;-) ). Stay clear until this place gets bought out.

Agreed, this place is a joke! I had a maint. guy swearing and throwing a fit because he couldn't figure out how to fix my exploded washer faucet. I had to show him. The management people are horrible! They have a power trip and treat you as if you are trying to get away with something. They make you feel like you are living in the projects and that you don't have any other choice. The spa has been OOC for at least a year. Also, I have never seen the word "unfortunately" used so many times as I have in the warning letters they send out. I'm outta here!!
