I have been a renter of Woodland Heights Apartment for one year and may I say it's been the worst year of my life. My wife and I were married in the summer of 06 and started our life together in this apartment complex. The first week was ok, but after that everything went down hill.
First it was ants, my wife and I are very clean people, we don't leave food around or garbage, but the ants keep coming. We asked maintanece to call the pest control and to this day no one has ever shown up.
Second, the dog issue, my wife and I got a small dog and always pick up after it, but there was people who didn't pick up there dogs bussiness and left for a very discusting living area and very embarssing to my guest.
Third it was a really bad snow storm, the day after the parking lot wasn't clear until four o'clock in the evening. My wife and I missed a 40th birthday party becasue of the mess.
Fourth, hidden cost of having a dog, up front my wife and I asked if we could have a dog, and they said ok but it would be an extra 25.00 dollar a month. When I came in to tell them that I was intrested in a dog six months later, they broke my contract by saying it would be a 200.00 dollar unrefundable deposit and an extra 25.00 dollars a month rent.
Fifth, they don't look into the tenats they rent to. I was next to some of the most ruddest people I have ever meet. Music being blasted, people throwing cigrates butts of there decks, for crying out loud I couldn't use my own deck because my upstaris neigbors and there cigrates butts.
sixth, getting evicted from my own apartment was great also, waking up at six in the morning of sunday and haivng only 10 mintues to gather what was needed to surrvive, and management of the apartment complex said it would only be one night, it ended up being a week, and I wasn't reemburrsed for no lost rent.
seventh, issues with washers and dryers could lead to fire problems in the future, management will not take care of this issue.
Last but not least, we had a feeing felony who assualted a police officer, came into my apartment building and than stabed another police officer. So much for secutiry.
Renter beware stay away from this apartment complex at all cost.
