musty, moldy, urine-scented, noisy, expensive nightmare with filthy carpets

I have to believe that the people writing the half-way decent reviews of this filthy place are management or paid by management. I can not think of one nice thing to say about it.
We rented this apartment because we needed a quick transitional living place in between moves & we had a pet.Neither of us had ever lived in an apartment & had no idea what to expect, and didn't research much before signing the lease, unfortunately. The walls must have had no insulation, because sounds from neighboring apartments were amplified into our apartment.Everybody knew each other's business & we found we had to whisper when in our apartments. The neighbors frequently complained to "management" about our dog barking - even though we came with a very well-trained dog who rarely made any noise...even when the neighboring dogs were going haywire every time a door opened. The BUILDING (not our apartment - THAT stunk like mold) also stunk of urine when we moved in, but the management tried to blame us.I credit my well-trained dog for NOT pissing all over that dump, because I was honestly afraid that he might become unhousebroken due to the stench of that luxury apartment.Meanwhile, WE never complained when a neighbor's crusty-looking unkempt dog tried to eat our dog & dragged it's owner across the parking lot to do so.The neighbors also complained that we were too noisy every weekend...but the funny part was that every weekend of our short stay, we were in Maine. The neighbors complained when we ran our bathroom fan (which never worked quite right as we had to keep bleaching mold off our ceilings). They complained when we bleached, when we got a plug-in air freshner to disguise the urine musty moldy stench of the place, when we used too much powder in the bathroom. They smoked cigaretttes & called management to complain of our cigarette smoke (but neither of us ever smoked). It was ridiculous!EVen if we WERE stinking up the place with air freshners and bleach, why is management's answer to the complaints of traveleing odors to complain back to us' Why not try insulating something'' I guess because we were new, we were good scapegoats for the fact that these people were living a noisy, broken down, moldy, stinky, urine & feces & ant infested life...ahem...i mean luxury apartment.Oh yeah, and when we moved in, I had to clean meat particles from the 1980s cabinet door crevices. There was dried grease covering the lightbulbs above the stove & some grease on the top part of the stove that would never come up.Oh yeah...and since we have moved out, the new people in our apartment have been trying to charge US for their Keyspan bill (which after a few months I think may finally have been settled). We aren't sure why this is, because WE needed all types of proof of setting up our own accounts before moving in.
Bottom line, these luxury apartments are poorly run, poorly managed, terribly maintained to the point of being unhealthy. But if you prefer to live among nosey trash with too much time on their hands who truly BELIEVE they are living in luxury apartments because the sign says so...then this is the place for you.
One thing we DID learn, though is that our dog is really better trained than we even realized, and that these white trash sort of people you see on sitcoms actually DO exist!!
