This place sucks - I can't stress this enough. If you are thinking about living here - look elsewhere. I'm leaving as soon as my lease is up...is it bad that I have a calendar counting down the days'!

At first the office staff seemed charming - willing to work with us because we were moving from a long distance - and we were home owners. They were excited to know that we knew how to take care of a place.

We moved in - we immediately started having problems. Our sink started leaking, the toilet, BOTH showers were covered in mold. The carpet turned our socks this nasty butterscotch yellow! It was so nasty. When we complained we were told that our apartment was cleaned with their cleaning company and that we had checked off on it when we moved in....when in fact Nancy came over with us to show us the wall that was painted, then told us to sign this paper stating it was okay with how they did it....we didn't know until we received the paper back - it was our "damage" report. I will mention they fixed the leaky toilet (after 2 weeks), but left the sink & the mold. Needless to say I've spent the past 8 months and several hundred dollars trying to get rid of the mold so I can continue to breathe as I have severe allergies and my husband replaced our water faucet on his own. I'm sure we will be penalized when we move because it doesn't match "standard ghetto apartment" fixtures.

The building I live in constantly smells like old food, animal feces and body odor. Someone has taken the time to hang Christmas tree air fresheners from the stairs...these are removed by office staff weekly. At least someone is trying to help.

Speaking of animal feces...there is a 50 dollar "fine" if you are "caught." You'd think with the cost that we pay to live here that this "fine" would be better enforced. I don't know how many times I've been late for work because I step in some animal feces and have to go back INTO the apartment to clean it off.

Now they're doing "construction" if that's what you want to call it. They're replacing the siding, redoing your patio and giving you new windows & a new sliding door. I was excited about the new windows & door...at least now they lock. Tho - this construction has caused me to take off 8 days of work for the "remodel" in the past 6 weeks. My employer is not happy with this at ALL. They tell you that they will have an AIMCO security guard on staff to be sure their construction workers dont' take anything...this security guard stands OUTSIDE the building stalking on his cell phone. The work - is being done INSIDE your apartment.

The construction workers use your power outlet to do the majority of the work, when I complained they said they weren't - so I took photos and showed them. Then demanded they pay for the electricity. When I got my bill and took it in - they said because the prior months bill was higher than normal, they were not going to pay.....why was it higher' They removed ALL of the trees, bushes and any other protection from the sun from the apartment. I will say - this has only been done in front of 4 of the apartment complexes so far...why haven't the others had these removed'!'! Also - I haven't been able to use my patio this entire summer because of the construction. My "grill" that I have to haul out to the street to use is now under a car port with tons of other peoples from other apartments. A neighbor has told me that some of the stuff that he put under there has been stolen.

Speaking of which - there has been a rash of car break ins also. Office staff say that they have asked Nashua police to step up their "patrol." I can say in the days that I have stayed home, I've only seen this cop ONCE...and he was talking to a very pretty girl who was very scantly clothed.

I could go on and on for days, but if you take the time to read this, know that there are many more complaints. All "good" ratings on this website are from management. If you read them all you will notice a trend...nobody's happy. After 2 bad reports, surprisinly a good one will come to bring up their ratings to at least 50%...happens every time.

Stay away from AIMCO & Bay Ridge @ Nashua!!

I just want to add a note about the car break ins, because my car was one of the ones that was broken into. It is definitely happening! When I called Bay Ridge to tell them about it in case there were more ppl (and maybe that they should sent out a notification to tenants about it) they got very defensive and stressed that it is NOT the construction workers..Strange that all of a sudden there is an increase in things being stolen at the same time that large numbers of construction crews and subcontractors are on site....Bay Ridge doesn't care though and ignore this issue among many others.

What are you friggen people living in .....a bubble or what? Welcome to the real world. Construction and major improvements ALWAYS can be a hassel if you continue to be negative and let them become your main focus. Stepping in dog ---- and whining about your car being broken into - honestly, this is part of real life it can happen anywhere! If your not happy with the place..... MOVE!!! As for the police patrols, I personally was in the office when an officer came in to talk to management about the increased drive bys - again, get real with your complaints! And just for the record-you sound like the type of person that even Archie Bunker would not like to live next to.

I completely agree that Bay Ridge Nashua is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place to live thanks to the HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT STAFF at the office specially the OFFICE MANAGER. You are right - as soon as there are a couple of bad reviews suddenly somebody who is very very happy with Bay Ridge crops up and raises the ratings. The truth is if they really looked after the tenants they would not have to write phony reviews . If anybody ever wants to do a class action law suit against AIMCO, count me in.

This tenant has to be one of those people that has renter's remorse. They probably are upset that they have to live in a rental property and are amplifying their anger about the smallest issues making everything out to be the worst it possibly can be. Sure the property has an issue here or there, but Since I travel and have chosen to rent because of the movement of my job, every community has issues. If you choose to let living amongst others and their quirks get to you, then maybe you'd be better off in a single family home that is yours. This property has done everything they have promised to do and more. They are not running some kind of slum and that is evident by the amount of money and materials they are pumping into the property to bring it up to a higher standard. I also find this website funny in the fact that the last several posts are anonymous. The last post even says to count them in for a lawsuit.....Hello? You have not identified yourself, so how would they contact you? Grow up people!

Every tenant has a constitutional right to post a negative review. In response to the anonymous 8/16 poster complaining about the negative ratings, welcome to reality. Not everyone is going to have a positive experience and they may have legitimate concerns. An officer talking to the staff about drive bys?!! That says something about bay ridge. There have been too many complaints about car break ins. In fact, my girlfriends co-worker who lives at bay ridge warned her about car break-ins. If cops have to continuously respond to complaints at Bay Ridge, that is not a good sign. I am sure that if your car is broken into and someone steals your stuff, you will whine and complain.

I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE!

I have lived there for 6 months! In this 6 months i have had a motorcycle stolen 2 times. The first time was after only being there a few days. The second time i had a motorcycle stolen was after living there 2 months. Now 6 months into my lease i have had my truck broken into. Besides my problems there have been about 16 other cars broken into in my 6 months living there. The complex does not care about you or your property! All they care about is getting payed on the first of the month. I have inquired about breaking the lease and their response is you ahve to give 2 months notice, and pay 2 months worth of rent ($2600)..... Normally i could understand this if i was breaking the lease just becasue i changed my mind...but in my case I have spent almost $3,000 on deductables and locks and alarms to secure my vehicles...all becasue this complex doesnt care to implement some kind of security measures. When i spoke with the police they said that half a mile up the road they have no problems with crime or vehicle theft/vandalisim. Oh lets not forget that the complex just recently had their sign vandalized (along with tenants vehicles) and they had to replace the whole sign.
