When I first moved to Nashua, I looked at a number of places. My roommate and I really liked the 12 foot ceilings and layout of the apartment we rented. Don't get me wrong, the location cannot be beat. You are 2 blocks from Main St. and all of Downtown Nashua. You can easily walk or bike into Mine Falls Park which is right beyond the millyard. However, it feels like the staff or management know that you can't really get a better location and are willing to skimp elsewhere because of that.
The staff is never very pleasant to deal with. They're not necessarily nasty or mean, but they're usually helpless. Since moving in they've gotten a new secretary who always has a scowl on her face and acts like she has something better to do behind the desk than help you, the tenant. The rest of the staff is just clueless. Apparently Michelle is the only one who knows anything about the building's policies. They don't have this stuff written down or in a book of guidelines, it's all stored in one woman's head. I assume Toni doesn't work here anymore since I haven't seen her in a while. That's one of the few good changes this place has gone through.
The rent is more than you'd pay for a similar sized apartment anywhere else in Nashua. Not so much more if the location is worth it to you. Even with a higher than average rent they still want to bleed as much money out of you as they can. They nickel and dime you to death with their fees for everything beyond your living space. Garage parking, the pool, and the tiny gym are all extra. Again, in other complexes in the area, these are all included in the rent. Be sure you read all their annoying announcements as failure to follow any policy exactly as worded will net you another charge. Even at minimum wage it's not worth your time to fight it as they'll give you the run around for days.
Maintenance is pretty good. My first year here, I had to call multiple times to get anything done. I don't know if it was the secretary or the maintenance folk who "forgot" or didn't write it down. The past few times I needed maintenance however, they were there the next day and took care of it.
The walls are paper thin and I can constantly hear my neighbor chatting on her phone. In addition, you can hear anything outside your door and people just let their kids run through the halls. I'm not sure if it's me or a characteristic of New England, but people aren't nearly as friendly up here. I know very few people in this very large building and people will only seldom utter an awkward 'hello' in the hallways.
The only other concern I have about this place is access. Let me explain. Anyone who lives in the building can get anywhere within it. This normally wouldn't be a problem but I've seen some pretty questionable characters in this building. There's a pretty dangerous part of Nashua one block away from the apartment as well. Some of these types have also been found in the building. Mysterious people aren't the only problem. The management constantly has to enter your apartment for various reasons. This is not maintenance related where you can give them permission to enter your apartment while your away. They do it during working hours so I've never seen them, but I constantly get notices under my door about their latest reason to enter my apartment. Nothing has happened, but I'm just not comfortable with this.
Ultimately, you may not be bothered by some of these thing. You might just want a nice looking place with a good layout and not care about the additional fees or lack of good office staff. I'm sure some people love this place, but I just would like more for my money.

I agree with everything you have said. I cannot wait to get out of there. My lease is up in 2 months, been waiting for it to end since I signed a new lease! This place is not worth the money! The staff is unhelpful, and rude. The building and surrounding area is not safe and secure like they say, several cars were broken into a few months ago, what were the awesome security guards doing during this time? Also, how about the guy that escaped from the courthouse and broke into the building? So safe, eh? The noise in and outside of the building is rediculous! Constant car alarms, drunks yelling in the middle of the night. I think Toni was much better than this one they have there now! What a cold hearted beast she is! The management is never available when you need them, they make their own hours and close when it's convenient for them. My favorite thing this past year has been the water being shut off constantly, due to "maintenance", and setting off the fire alarms. I could go on, but I won't! Clocktower is just a bad idea!
