Good starter apartment for the area

We moved here mainly because we didn't have time to shop around but overall after living here for a year and a half I wouldn't say it was a bad decision. However as with all complexes it isn't perfect.
Rent was a decent price but still on the high side. I feel like I'm throwing away half my salary to live here. And in reality what do I get' I very very small annoying bathroom, first of all if you hate colored tile in bathrooms don't go here. You could clean these things one day and have it be filled with white soap scum the next. Very annoying.
The worst part about the place is are the annoying neighbors. We have filed so many complaints about the women downstairs it's uncanny yet night after night we can hear them screaming at the top of their lungs at each other and playing their music and TV extremely loud. There are some strange people living here. But there are also a lot of nice people so it's a bit of a tradeoff.
You might think the location is nice being right in the center of the commercial area but living a mile from massachusetts it will take you 25 minutes to do a quick 5 minute run to cumberland farms on a weekend afternoon. During the holidays forget it. It's a gridlock for 12 hours of the day. Also the bottom of the apartment driveway floods during bad rain storms which makes it so you have to detour through even more traffic to leave and get home. But it's got a decent view if you get a good apartment. We have a nice view of the sky and city line in ours.
They allow pets and are really willing to work with you on a lot of things. Very nice people in the rental office save one person who can be a real hagging wench.
The service is ok, the few things we've called on they have been there to fix in decent time. The apartments are ok for a couple but wouldn't want a family in one. The kitchen is very functional(gotta love gas stoves) but the our dishwasher has been a real pain. They've tried to fix it twice but it still doesn't clean the dishes completely alot of times.
There is a nightly security guard which makes you feel a bit safer at night. And there aren't a lot of silly rules like no smoking on the porches on tuesdays(I've actually been to an apartment complex that had this as a rule!!).
The luandry just plain sucks, 1.50$ per wash and dry. That adds up to 3.00 per load and it adds up so fast that you feel like you're spending 80$ a month on laundry. Take that into consideration unless you have a resource to do laundry at.
It's got a exercise room but don't plan on using them unless you wiegh under 250 pounds. Anyone over sends them into a grinding noise that would wake up the neighborhood. The pool is open maybe 2 months out of the year.
It's a good place to start but I will be glad to leave come this spring.
