I was sad to read some of the comments about Royal Crest. Faults are everywhere, if you look for them. But so far as apartment living goes, this is a very pleasantly-conceived village of apartment buildings in a lovely woodland setting. Nature abounds. Then there are the gardens, seasonal plantings and frequent lawn mowings. The downside is the noise of the men with their gardening machines. Domestic maintenance, in my experience, has been prompt and good-natured.
The large Indian population is rather nice, I think. They are polite but reserved. The tantalising scents of curries coming from some of the apartments makes one want to tap on the door and ask if there is room for one more at dinner.
Most of the tenants seem to be highly-educated tech immigrants - who earn well and soon move into their own homes. Certainly the tenant turn-over is quite high - and some neighbors are better than others.
I love that the compound is good for walks - and that the stores also are within walking distance. I have not used the gym but love the pool. I just wish there was a covered pool for winter.
Cleaning of the communal areas is not as good as it was when first we moved in - but it remains respectable and rubbish is always promptly removed.
Office staff have been unfailingly pleasant.
I can think of a lot worse places to live.
