The apartment and the community is nice. Full marks for that. However, when it comes to price increase, expect the management to be merciless. They know you are locked in after moving here. During my first term, they I paid $1400 for a 2 bed apartment. They increased my rate by $300 when I opted for a month-month lease. This is despite the fact that the leasing agent (Holly) assured that the rate increase wont be steep.
I am locked in. I dont want to move out every 6 months. But, I cant offord the $1700 per month rent.

An increase like that is pretty common. Our apartment community in the DC area has a price increase from $300-400/month-to-month after the first year! Well, you can always move after the first year! Move in for one year, get to know the area and than move to a better place after your lease! That??s what we??re planing on doing after coming to NH!

That's because you did a monthly lease. If you had signed another 12 month lease, you could have expected a 50-80 dollar monthly raise, which isn't bad.
