As many others have written, i too encountered many of the same problems. I lived at 12 salmon street for my last semester at UNH, thank goodness it was only for four months! from day one we had an infestation of those pharoah ants. one of my roommates was constantly being bite by them, even though cheney said they didn?t bite. of course they only admitted that we actually had ants after we complained to them a dozen times or so. they called an exterminator, (who we knew by name because he had to come so often) but was told that the ants were breeding in the rotting walls of the building and there was no way of getting rid of them without tearing down the entire building! he said that the building was so damp, that it attracted the ants!

once mid-november came the ants disappeared but the mold problem started to grow. the lack of ventilation in the bathroom made for a great mold-breeding room. all 4 of us that squished into the small apartment ended up with allergies to mold and headaches etc.

and then there was the problem with the cats that lived underneath us. a family of four or five lived with 5 or 6 cats, which is definitely not allowed. the stench of cat pee was a constant problem, to the point where we couldn?t keep our door or windows open when it was hot outside. the stench and the people were unbearable.

as for our security deposit...well don?t expect to get it all back ever. the apartment was left in good condition and clean, but yet we were still charged for 8 hours to clean that very small apartment! in the end we only got something like less than 2/3 of our security deposit back. ridiculess if you ask me!!!



bottom line....don?t sign with cheney, you?ll regret it from day one.
