The rents of apartments in this area probably differ from rents of apartments in most other areas of the country. In New Hampshire, there is no income or sales tax, only a property tax, so yes, this is incorporated in the rent structure. Also, utilities might be higher here than where you previously lived as well as insurance coverage and simply the cost of doing business, ie: subcontractors. I believe the cost of living in the northeast is one of the highest in the whole country. Cheney Companies apartments are competitively priced with other surrounding areas, excluding Portsmouth itself.
