Don't be fooled by the looks of the apartment. Everything is visually appealing but the craftsmanship is terrible. This is not by any means- quality stuff. At $1295 a month, the rent is not worth what you're getting. On top of that, you are charged a full cleanup when your lease is over. You basically pay them for "professional cleaning" which includes carpet etc. The walls are incredibly thin and you can hear everything above you. If you're young and like to have people over, this is not the place. Noise complaints are frequent and almost futile because nothing is ever done about them. If you have an issue with the apartment that needs maintenance, the process is often drawn out and spread over the course of weeks. Nothing is expedited- even if it is a severe problem.
The staff is friendly and will take care of your concerns but not at their inconvenience. Nothing against them- but they aren't genuinely happy to hear from you once you've signed their lease. If they could have it their way, they would never want to hear from you and have you pay their expensive rent.
The apartment is fine as long as you don't have any problems. If this is the case, 1295 a month is a little pricey but you get a decent apartment with large kitchen. Once you start having maintenance issues, it feels like its one after the other and they will be quick to blame it on you. If it were me, I would go with Cherry Hill apartments. The staff does their job well and very approachable when it comes to any concerns you might have. When choosing apartments, I went with Mead Hill because it was nicer looking but seeing the way Mead Hill staff treats their tenants, I would choose otherwise in a heartbeat. They count on turning over their apartments after the year is up- I'm sure its no problem for them either. When you meet them and their apartments, its a facade illustration to get you to sign.

Manager's Response

From: Manager Date: 04/24/2009
In response to this posting, we will go in order of the 'complaints'. Concerning the craftmanship, we are not sure what is meant. We are not aware of any problems concerning anything not working, such as plumbing or heating or appliances. This is an apartment building so noise does tend to carry from unit to unit. However, a clause in the lease states in bold that all residents are entitled to peaceful and quiet enjoyment. The interpretation of this varies from person to person, however, if action is warranted, we do take action, to the point of evicting violators. As for being charged a full cleanup, cleaning the carpets is a term of the lease and is reviewed at the time of move in. The resident is charged for unit cleaning if it is apparent they did not attempt to clean through their lease or at the end. It is not our liability to clean up after the tenant and incur the expense. We try to respond to maintenance issues as quickly as possible although emergencies, including snow removal, take precedence. We would highly contest the comment we would never want to hear from you and as for the 'expensive' rent, if you want something less expensive, there are plenty of other choices out there. That is the rent for these units and anyone who signs a lease for these units is fully aware of the rent. We absolutely do not 'count on turning over' our apartments after a year. We adore our long term tenants and hope each and every one of our residents considers their apartment 'home' and would stay forever.
