The "Management" at Cherry Hill Consists of a bitter, rude, evil stepmother type we will call "Dale" and a spineless snake we will call "Scooter". Here is my story, I moved into my apartment in July 03, and my first encounter with Dale came in August, when I was draining my waterbed (which are not allowed) because my new bed had arrived and I hung the mattress over the railing of my deck to finish the last few gallons, it wasn't even there a few minutes when Dale showed up at my door growling about not being allowed to hang ANYTHING over the railings, although I noticed flags and flower pots and christmas lights and beach towels everywhere. My next encounter with Dale was in September, when on a Saturday I was taking out the trash on my way to work. Because they are too cheap to have multiple dumpsters for the over 100 apartments, you have to load it up in or on your car to take to the dumpster, on my way I got a phone call and forgot the trash which fell off my roof on the road down the hill, on my return home I was confronted by Dale with a threat to "either get a bag and go pick it up or someone would call the police" she knew it was my trash because she bothered to go through it until she found my name on a piece of mail. My next encounter with Dale was in December when the plowing crew, under her direct supervision, plowed the snow from half the lot onto my parking spot. when I asked when it would be cleared, I was told "they will return tomorrow the clean up", well 10 days later I needed to unload some groceries and parked against the snow bank near my spot ( completely out of the way of others)and was ticketed by her for not obeying the parking rules and was told that if I did it again I would be towed. Now late January, I again needed to unload groceries and a new computer,so I parked this time on top of the snowbank ( I own a 4x4), well, you can imagine how surprised I was to go out to my truck after unloading and setting up my computer, to find that my truck was missing. I called the police thinking it was stolen and was informed that Dale had it towed. When I called the emergency contact number and was forwarded to Dale's home number, she told me that it was my fault and that she was not responsible for my transgretion and that it was up to me to retieve my truck at a cost of $80.00 dollars. I again complained that my spot was still full of snow and was informed that there is no gauranteed parking, even though only months before when i sat filling out paperwork at her desk, I was told ( while being handed my parking sticker)not to park in others spot's for I would be towed. Around this time, I began reconsiling with my wife, who has a dog that she brings everywhere, even though I had a pet agreement and they do allow dogs in some of the buildings, I began to recieve complaints from Dale about the presents of a dog even though her visits could be measured in the minutes on average. when I tried to explain this to Dale and Scooter their responce was cold, unconcerned and berating. when I finally made it clear that I would not stop her from visiting, I was offered another apartment in a "dog friendly" building. which I took in April, it's now july again. Time to renew' Nope, I was not even given a chance, at the beginning of the month, I was sent a form letter requesting information as to my plans to move out or stay and that I should call the office to confirm these plans, when I called, I was told that my apartment was leased to someone else and that they had no vacancies. Now I have been forced to move a third time in 1 year and with no notice since I have had no complaints from Dale since living in the Dog friendly building. You can imagine how upset I am with Scooter, because I had my wife call and use to her maiden name to inquire about "dog friendly vacancies" and she was told that they had several. while Scooter keeps insisting that he can't help me. sounds fishy to me. I would recommend a cardboard box rather than a lease with these people, especially if you don't intend to become a "Stepford" tenant.
However after all this I have to sincerely thank the management of Cherry Hill Apartments, they psuhed me to look at Chenny company , they had several water front units available and dog friendly units on the water as well. you can't image how cool it was to finish moving for the day and go for a swimm in one of the states most beautiful rivers, all for a mere 960 per month! it's like living on a lake shore!

i am in the process of looking for a new apartment. I have read several of the reviews online of this complex and I am almost looking forward to my chance tomorrow to see how the managers put things, and consider myself fully warned. I however think that this review about the stepford community seemed more like the rantings of an unhappy person, who needs to learn to follow through more with things that a company is doing wrong. If the snow is still there ten days after they say that it will be plowed, I see more than one party at fault. Follow through, threaten if need be with a lawyer. I really value the time that this person and others have put into their responses, as do others Im sure, and I know I will be taking their words into consideration in my search. |

I agree with this. The office is very rude and disrespectful. When our lease is up we will be moving. Violarebecca I'm sure found out that its a horrible place to live and regrets the responce that she did. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
