I think most people who write into this kind of forum are either particularly happy or exceptionately disgruntled, so take all extreme opinions with a grain of salt. It's not unbiased reporting.
My experience has been basically fine. There are certainly restrictions on freedoms (smoking, animals, grills, etc.), but on the other hand, someone else takes care of the shoveling and plowing, the maintenance, groundskeeping, and can be reached in an emergency.
If you value quiet, order, neighbors who don't bother you and not having to maintain your property yourself, Cherry Hill is a good arrangement.
If you want freedom to not have someone watching over you and you'd rather pay for repairs as you see necessary rather than being nickle and dimed for every nail hole and pet, home ownership or a less structured apartment complex is a much better choice.

wait till you move out and they get you for patching holes and painting and carpet cleaning...take a look around at the cameras watching you. you have no privacy. if you go to club house, beware of which set of rules applt to you
