We have lived in Cherry Hill for two years. Overall, this is a good place to live. The rent is a little high (like everything nowadays), but it's a price you pay for your home to be centrally located to Portsmouth, Dover, and Manchester. The complex itself is very quiet. There are, of course, the occasional sounds of your upstairs neighbors walking around, or hearing the water coursing through the pipes when a toilet is flushed or the shower is run. I have never once heard anyone's voice through the walls or ceiling. The complex itself seems to be mostly adults or people with very small families.
I have read others' postings of the management, and as far as I can tell, they're not being very fair. Gayle and Scott have many apartments to oversee, and as a result, there are a lot of rules. However, these rules are not far-fetched. They are designed so that everyone who lives there has a place to live that is comfortable and quiet. My experience in dealing with Scott and Gayle is that they are friendly and fair people. Of course, if you don't follow the basic expectations of community living, they will probably seem like sticklers, because they have a whole community of people to be concerned about. (But then again, the only ones who didn't like the principal in high school were the ones always breaking the rules, weren't they') I am also a true believer that if you treat the office and maintenance staff as people rather than hired hands, your experience will be more pleasant. Try having a general conversation with any of them- you'll probably see they're people, just doing a job and trying to be as fair as possible. It's not always fun to be the bad guy who's got to uphold the rules; but I guess if people were breaking the rules and getting away with it, someone would probably complain about the management then, too.
