Greedy management

Buildings seemed solidly built, but anyone tromping through the halls could be easily heard. Walls were thin, though ceiling/floors seemed to be excellent.
In the apartment, be extra careful not to get water on the kitchen or bathroom floors since they aren't properly sealed and management will nail your security deposit. Also, don't smoke, burn any candles, incense, cook, or do anything else that produces smoke since the residue winds up on the walls and they'll charge you for having to repaint ALL the walls in the apartment.
Be clean when you take a bath or shower because the bathtub is improperly sealed and can become discolored from anything other than pure water (yes, they'll charge you for that, too!)
The sealant on the bathub is also easily scratched, so make sure you don't have any long finger or toe nails and you don't drop your shampoo bottle or razor, because if you scratch it, you're paying to refinish it! This also means you can't bathe your pets in this "pet friendly" place.
Building's halls are cramped, dark and dingy and in severe need of cleaning. Found dog poop in hallway once. Handiman is hardworking and polite and you see him around often. If you have a problem, DON'T take it to the often-closed office, but to him and it'll get fixed faster. Not enough washing machines or dryers (2 of each per building are not enough) and half the time they didn't work anyway. Always busy and you'd often be up late just so you could get the laundry done.
Parking seems ample at first glance, but is not. Many times I could not find a place to park and had to park in the guest area, far from my building.
Yes, it is "pet friendly"; dogs, cats, ferrets welcome. Special place for dogs to poop, plus cans to help you clean up, though some owners don't take their dogs to those spots, nor do they clean up. On the other hand, some tenants take their dogs for a walk in the nearby cemetary (beautiful iany time of year, has an ice skating pond in winter!) but, again, don't clean up. Tenants with barking dogs aren't penalized, so be prepared to deal with it if you have a yappy neighbor.
Heat is electric and you're paying! Take that into acocunt for the winter months as your electric bill can skyrocket. We had a broken thermostat for months before they finally came and fixed it, made our electric bill even higher. We did not get reimbursed.
WAARNING! Basement apartments can flood in spring, or in winter if it rains! YOU are responsible for getting renters insurance since Sagamore will NOT pay for damages caused by flooding. Snow also piles up near basement windows and can make it dark and gloomy in winter (and possibly block your alternate window escape route in case of fire.)
Office hours (as mentioned by others that have rated this place) don't guarantee management is in their offices or can be found on the property.
If you can find them, management is polite as long as you're giving them money. Once they see you're not going to be paying them anymore, they attitudes quickly change and they become snippy and very rude.
We had a heck of a time getting our security deposit back. If you move out, have them itemize what needs to be fixed/replaced and their quotes for labor, then get a second opinion from professionals!! Sagamore WILL rip you off in labor fee if you don't dispute it! Fight them over every single point because they'll nail you for normal wear and tear, which they can't legally do. If you put up a serious fight, they'll back off and give you your money back (at least most of it!)
Left because rent was going up at least $100 EVERY year. $900 for two-bedroom BASEMENT apartment was bad enough, but it was going up to over $1000 the next year. We should have taken the nice, above-ground 2 bedroom at another place (also pet-friendly) for only $650, but my roommate at the time was stupid enough to want to go to Sagamore!!
In short, there are cheaper, nicer, friendlier places out there that accept pets.
