Ok, not the best, and definitely not cheap

At first glance Canterbury commons looks great. The maintenance staff goes overboard trying to entice you to rent, and it looks like a pretty well kept place. However, the rent is exorbitant for the space ($920 for only 650 sq. foot 2-bedroom). They may justify it by the FREE HEAT (this, in a sign at the entrance,is a little silly) but the heat is from an in-unit oil burner that takes up valuable wall space and moans like a banshee. Maintenance is fabulous, always fast and they do wonderful work, but the hallways have only been cleaned 3 times in the year I've spent there and the neighbors leave much to be desired. They have a tendency to do burnouts in the parkinglot, smoke pot outside your windows, and leave junkyard-quality vehicles all over the place. (Maybe the rent is steep enough that they can't afford a good car') Also, you *will* be able to hear them through your walls. Our apartment was supposedly non-smoking, which we were thrilled by, but unfortunately the 1-inch gap under our front door let in our neighbor's smoke anyway. Lastly, cats are an extra $50 a month on rent.
Overall, the area was ok as long as you don't let people smoking in the laundry center or the steep rent get to you.
