Sunnyhurst takes the cake when it comes to affordable apartments in a good community. The management is extremely nice and takes care of your every need at a moment's notice, and the apartments and buildings are kept well-maintained. They also take care of snow removal promptly and do not put up with noisy tenants.I have been living here for two years now, and am happy to renew my lease for a third. The ONLY bad thing I have to say is that they do not allow dogs. I have considered moving a few times because I so desperately want a pet, but when you look at the apartments around this area you will not find any others that include heat, hot water, and cooking gas within the rent price. That being said, I've been surviving ok without the dog. :)

I highly recommend Sunnyhurst to anyone looking for a decent place to live. I am in my mid twenties, but I have noticed that the make-up of the community here tends to be mostly elderly folks. I sometimes feel like I am living in a retirement community, but I'd rather that than partying college students (which I have seen none of here)! In the buildings, people tend to keep to themselves here and it stays very quiet, but everyone is still friendly when you're talking to them outside or at the mailboxes.
