A letter I just wrote. Also crime here is high, cars get broken into all the time, and they once sent out a letter to all tenants asking us to help the police in any and all matters. The apartments are very nice, unfortunately thats about all I can say for it. Domestic violence is a big problem. I've heard girls getting thrown against the wall and crying (I called the cops that time, after about two hours wondering why it sounded as though someone was putting up paintings at 2 AM and you can usually hear couples fighting if you take your dog for a walk through the complex.
The front office staff at The Landings is awful, dismissive, and extremely unhelpful. In one case they attempted to tack on $400 to my rent as a fee to sue myself for a $90 late charge. If that's your policy it goes against a number of regulations.
When I went to the front office a woman named Rochelle was extremely inattentive, carrying on with her paperwork why I was talking to her. She acted as though I was inconveniencing her by making her do her job.
Over the past few months I've been lobbying for a recycling bin to be made available to the tenants of the 500 and 600 building. I've been completely unsuccessful thus far in my attempts. It is my hope that by writing you I may see better results.
I am very conscious about me and my generations effect on the planet. We have succeeded in utterly destroying ecosystems of the ocean. By recycling, waste that would otherwise be dumped in the ocean is reused. But that is impossible without facilities available in which to discard your recyclable goods.
I have spoken with three different employees at the front office on all on different occasions and a maintenance man on more than one. I've gotten mixed responses but never anything more than the noncommittal, "we'll try." I've been told by the maintenance man that building 300 had an extra recycling bin, and that I should pull it over. I did that and within a few days it was gone.
I pay $865 a month to live here. To request the availability of recycling bin is not that much to ask.
Regards,
