I went to see a 3rd floor 2bdrm apartment. The hallways/entrance areas to the apartment was dark and had two areas to enter and exit. I wasn't too fond of the fact that a criminal can duck behind a door and still be able to watch me (without me seeing him) open my door and rob/rape me . That wasn't too much of an issue The people in that area aren't really violent but you never know ( the kids I would say are spoiled and bratty not really hood). The apartment had a great layout with a lot of plug sockets. One of the things I didn't like was the black spot I saw on the counter. It reminded me of when red kool aid is spilled on a counter top and from only wiping it the red dye area is still there. The counter definitely needed to be replaced. I later founded out someone was moving in and the place was ready for them. It's plain to see that Middlesex managements a.k.a. Bestrentnj.com hid behind the facade of a spacious layout making it irresistible to pass up on their offer. In north new jersey any one is sold on good space, some grass and a decent area. Every thing in that place was cheap from the floors to the fixtures. Including the old combo washer dryers along with an ancient refrigerator with a matching stove. I believe the place is so spacious because it lacks closet space in a 2bdrm there are only three closets. The closet by the door and the closets in the bedrooms. I'm not knocking the place. In fact I liked it a lot, it's definitely for families who is in need of space. Whom is also a previous renter that is already aware of how these big apartment management companies gather up cheap equipment and in return charge high rent. As a wise renter your best bet is to move into a private home. You won't have to worry about credit reports ,denials and strangers. Private homes primarily rely on your word.That makes renting in North ,Nj more relaxing and less tense. the offset is that you have to manually find the places because most private renters aren't greatly advertised. renting in New jersey is aggravating either everything is nice and expensive as he!l. or you dislike certain things but the price is right.
