Not that bad- why all the hating'

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
I don't understand all the negative reviews here, and no, I'm not a plant. I've lived in Pike Run for almost two years now, in a 1 BR w/den and 2 full baths, for a very reasonable $1300/month. Pike Run is conveniently located on 206 between Princeton and Raritan, where I and my roommate need to commute to. I've been very satisfied so far.
What could be improved:
1) Walls could be thicker- I can hear my neighbor practicing on his drumset, but beyond that, no real noise complaints. From what I've read, all the apartments in NJ have thin walls. They're all built about the same.
2) I get 1 silverfish every 2-3 days, but nothing horrific. It probably helps that I'm the second floor unit.
3) The dryer really stinks, doesn't even dry.
4) No sink disposal unit- gotta be careful not to let the drain clog up.
What's great:
1) Trash comes 2x a week, multiple dumpsters.
2) I've found the maintenance service to be very prompt and friendly; all the service personnel speak good English, and were nice.
3) Parking spaces are ample and wide.
4) For 1100 sq ft, I'm getting a good bargain, and I've looked at a lot of different apartments.
5) Grounds are well landscaped, and the running trails and tennis courts are great.
Some problems that others have addressed:
1) Getting charged $50 for a lockout fee. That's your own stupid fault for forgetting your key, don't blame Pike Run for that.
2) Getting charged a late fee- if you miss your credit card payment, they charge a late fee too not to mention interest accruing. Just send your payments in on time, it's that simple.
2) Snow removal- I've been here in the winter, and it's not that bad. A little patience goes a long way.
3) Gas and heating bills expensive' Duh, that's because natural gas prices are expensive in general, and even more so due to the gas crunch.
4) Complaining about sticky floors, dents, etc... Inspect your unit before you move in- that's what we did, and when it was to our satisfaction, then we moved in.
For the price, Pike Run is a very reasonable stay. Sometimes they offer discounts (e.g. like for our den unit) which makes it a great deal.
