The pros and cons of living in Pike Run

PROS:
1. Nice neighborhood. In general well kept.

2. Ample parking. There are plenty of parking spaces, they mihgt not be right in front of your door, but they are there.
3. Well lit at night.

4. Maintenance responds very quickly. (within a day or two.)

CONS:
1. DIRECT RENT PAYMENT PROBLEMS. I had been successfully paying rent to Middlesex Management (MM) via direct deposit from my bank. The process was working smoothly for about 4 months, until MM called me to say they had not received my 5th month's rent. I assumed it was my bank's fault..at first. After a few more phone calls to MM and being told nastily that it was my bank's problem, it turns out MM had negelected to check the correct account and mine was indeed paid up. Basically a lot of MM caused hastle for a payment that was already received.

2. SILVERFISH EVERYWHERE. Without doubt, this is a problem. I've killed one just about every week recently.

3. NOISE, NOISE, AND NOISE! I can hear my neighbors all the time...whether it be the washer/dryer, vaccumming, yelling, stomping up and down stairs at all hours, kids playing, etc. The problem is so bad, I actually called MM to see what I could do, and as a tenant the only option is to file a formal complaint, meaning your neighbor receives a letter from MM. If the problem persists, MM takes you and your neightbor to arbitration, and if necessary to court to solve the problem. Bottom line is that I never filed an official complaint because in my opinion, a letter probably does nothing, and who has the time and effort to deal with the options'

4. Rental office personnel. The personnel are in general nice and friendly, except for one lady who continually has an attitude. She is definitely not the first person a prosepective renter should deal with...a definite turn off as a person's first introduction to the development.

5. Difficult to 'sign up' for use of the pool/gym, etc. The hours are extremely limited.
