My experience happened a few years ago, but I just happened across this site and felt compelled to warn potential tenants.
The complex and grounds are pleasing to the eye and are well-maintained, yet the shady ways of the management and maintenance staff is what one needs to watch for. The office staff was friendly and helpful when I signed my lease; unfortunately, they made a mistake with my move-in date and the apartment still needed to have work done. They apologized for the inconvenience and asked me to not move my furniture into the bedroom, for they had to replace the carpet and heating/ac vents in that area of the apartment. They acknowledged that the carpet in the living room needed to be replaced as well because there was burn damage to the carpet from the previous tenants. This proved to be too much of a hassle for both parties so we agreed not to replace it. I asked them to put this incident in my file so that I would not be financially responsible for the previous tenants' property damage, and they thanked me for being so patient and understanding about this mishap. Case closed... so I thought - but more on that later.
The interior of the apartment is nice ("low-level" luxury), yet there were many problems with maintenance, the neighbors, and insects. The maintenance team was lazy, rude, and had a slow response time. One instance that comes to mind is when a tile fell off into the bathtub. I reported it to the office and they told me it would be a few days. No problem since it was a minor issue. Two days later I came home from work and wanted to take a shower. I was just about to step into a huge mess of broken tile and tools. I was apalled that maintenance came into the apartment without leaving a work order, and did not finish the job nor clean up after themselves.
I also had bad luck with the neighbors. A family with kids running around all day and adults slamming doors, screaming, doing laundry, etc. into the wee hours of the night. The thin walls and ceiling did not help the cause.
I lived on the first floor and there were so many bugs coming inside. Thankfully, they were harmless "roly-pollies" but we did have our share of ants and millipedes. Ant traps took care of the ants, of course, but the weekly exterminator visits could not deter the infestation. And I really mean infestation! When I moved out of the apartment, I had a friend help me with the heavier pieces of furniture and he almost vomited: The floor was literally covered with dead "roly-pollies"! It was absolutely disgusting!!!
Now to the part that really disturbs me - how they stole a large portion of my security deposit. The security deposit is hefty at one and one half's month rent, about $1800. I was ready to move after my 12 month lease was up and scheduled a walk-through. The entire maintenance crew showed up and for the first time worked very hard (to deduct money from my security deposit). Being that they are not too bright, they were raving about how they have never seen an apartment left so clean, even better than the cleaning company they hire. Nevertheless, they found a way to take $50 here and $50 there (i.e. there is a speck of grease on the handle of the microwave, and there is some dirt under the fridge... yes, under the fridge). And they had the audacity to quickly bend a tiny corner of the window blinds (in front of my face), blame me for damaging them, and said that they needed to be replaced (') even though they were not smart enough to mess up the functionality. They are not master illusionists so I caught them in the act, but it was three against one. Then, of course, they blamed me for the burns in the carpet. I was fuming and notified the manager. I told her the story and she laughed at the fact that her staff would intentionally damage the window blinds. Then I demanded that she look at my file for proof that the carpet was damaged before I moved in. Apparently, the case was not documented and she called me a liar. In the end, they took around one-third of my security deposit. After a lot of fighting and a member of the staff stepping forward, they waived the charge of the burned carpet.
I know this was a long review, but what is sad is that I cut out a lot of painful details. I just moved out of another apartment owned by another landlord, which I lived in for four years, and the management gave me 100% of my security deposit. I know there are bad tenants out there, but my credit score is over 800, I have never been late with a payment, I follow the rules, and I keep my place very clean. I feel that Middlesex Management is crooked, and I do not want responsible people to go through what I have gone through.

very interesting. is this the affordable housing section or regular section? They don't have routine exterminator coming to spray? I was thnking of moving there, but these reviews are such a turn off. How can you keep food in the house with ants?

dont move there, it is awful, worse than any of these reviews. and this is the regular section! dirty no parking trash never seemed to make it to the dumpster which was always empty but you cant get to because the trash is piled around it, and again is the regular area
