The rent is managable, 925 for a 500 sq feet 1 BR apt, located 10 miles from Jersey city and NY city. Not a bad deal. The apts are carpeted and they renovate the kitchen with a new dishwasher, a fridge in the kitchen.
The walls are really thin in the sense you can hear the next door neighbours voices, when they fight or when they are having sex and banging against the wall, if you get good neighbours who stay quite and keep things in control, your stay will be a delight. Mine does everything with a big bang including listening to music but managed to survive.
Never heard of any crime, god bless, Belleville Police station is a stone throw away. Parking can get little hairy but u always manage to find something, it is a matter of being patient. Close to Garden state pkwy, highway 21 and TPK. Grocery stores are in a 3 mile radius and you can walk to the public library where you can access free internet.
So not a bad deal if on a budget. Maintenance is not bad, slow to respond but not bad during any emergencies.
