My wife and I have lived at Hyde Park for several years now. We chose this complex because of it's proximity to our jobs. BIG MISTAKE!! Over the past few years it has gotten progressively worse every month. For starters, the property is a disgrace. The landscaping is generally ignored sans the seven hour lawn cutting fiasco that occurs at both unpredictable and irregular intervals so that they cannot be planned for. They usually begin mowing around 7-8am so that nobody can sleep. Even if your cheap, paper thin windows are closed to muffle the din of the screaming teens who are out all night (into the a.m. hours) you can still not sleep without earplugs. Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones whose A/C unit is so old and loud it sounds like an industrial cooling fan at a nuclear plant!
The landscaping, however, is only a weekly occurence. Unlike the unsupervised demon children who belong to the various assortment of H.U.D. Section 8 housing recipients and other ne'erdowells who are on the run from Pennsylvania law enforcement authorities. These little angels like to let the air out of your tires, take antennaes off cars, destroy building doors and fixtures and partake in all sorts of mischief. The days are filled with their screams and yelling of profanity as well as late into the nights. Police and Fire Department visits are a familiar sight.
Moving on to the buildings themselves, there's nothing like coming home from a long day at work to the sight of your monochromatic old brick building. I have to say though, that the drip stains from the in-wall air conditioner units do add a splash of color. The buildings are cleaned once a month and often reek of a mold smell. Mold and moisture is common in older brick structures that do not have occasional brick-pointing done. When we complained about the mold in our bathroom the maintenance staff told us they could paint over it for us! How sweet! Mold is a serious health hazard, but I'm sure a coat of their beautiful mandatory white paint will take care of that.
The apartments are generally small and poorly laid-out. It is impossible to arrange your furniture so that it doesn't block the A/C unit. There are the bare minimum of electrical receptacles and there are none in the bathrooms. Which is unfortunate, because when you see the caulking and painting job in your bathroom, you'll wish you could take a bath with the hair dryer. Anyone who wonders what jobs illegal immigrant workers are taking from American citizens: painting, plumbing, and construction on Hyde Park's apartments are a few of them. (A side point for those to which it matters, they do not use union contractors that I have seen.) The worksmanship is shoddy and attention to detail is not even a consideration.
The most important factor for most people when choosing an apartment home is the price of rent. Hyde Park used to be a competitor in that market but they are no longer. The rates are too high for what you get and they have an unbending policy of filing you for eviction if you have a balance of $300 on the 14th of each month. The problem is that they assess a $400 attorney fee for an eviction and a 10% late fee if you are not paid in full by the 5th of the month. They also do not guarantee that online payments will be processed befor the fifth even if you pay on time! they have lost their minds! Morgan Properties is apparently the most oppressive landlord I have ever heard of. God forbid anyone should have unexpected expenses that put you behind in your rent.
In fairness, I must say some good things about Hyde Park Apartments in Bellmawr. I have gotten to know most of my building neighbors because we all hate this place so much we have lots to talk about and lots in common and we'll all be moving out when our leases expire. Also, the local police department realizes what a pariah this place is to the township so if you are the victim of a home invasion, the police response is quick. Sweet dreams.......

i dont know i think its funny hat you complain about the look of the building and no outlets in the bathrooms. didnt you look at the apartments before you signed a lease? i mean if your so concerned about that stuff didnt you check it first? and the whole rent thing, anything that you make a monthly payment on, creit card, phone bill, cable bill, etc. you must pay on time its a responsibiliy of being an adult, yes maybe you bit off a little more than you could chew with all your bills but you have to realize thats your fault buddy. and also if your conditions are so bad did you know that you can call the new jersey state inspectors office and file a report, its really not that hard you can even call anonymously and they are usually out with in a week so you can sit here online and conplain about all your unfair treatment or you can actually do something about it, unless is not really as bad as your making it out to be!

Hey my man or woman,
where did you learn your English????? Your post is horrible. Yes most of the residents know about the inspectors office to file a complaint. But did you know that BELLMAWR give them the CO to live there anyway.....
A few apartments have slow drains, crapy bathrooms and leaks on the walls, but they manage to get what they want.
So before you start getting on your HIGH HORSE go look at the apartments first. And NO YOU CANNOT SEE AN APARTMENT BEFORE YOU RENT, they are never available.

well i have to agree with some of the problems with this place. I've been here for almost 3 years and kind of like it because of the location, as far as commuting to work. I do think the rent in ridiculous for the old unit that I'm living in. My sink occasionally leaks, my bathroom tub looks dirty and old. No matter how much i scrub, i cant get the scum off. The AC unit is mega loud. I cant even arrange my furniture the way i want because it'll block the AC. The painters were so lazy that they just painted over the built-up dirt and cob webs on the walls. You can hear everything the neighbors are doing. I mean everything. At night, I would even hear my neighbor farting!! Other than that, i really do love the spacious closets n walkin closet. the bedroom and living are is quite spacious also. I've made my apt to be comfortable and beautiful but its the part before you walk in. Too many stinky, dirty dogs that causes the hallways to stink and have hair all over the carpet. I get embarrassed to bring people by because that was their first impression of my place. As soon as morgan property took over, they raised my rent by $90!! Is that even legal??
